This was the first/second race for most of the team, and they all performed well above their own expectations. The ladies in our team are all mums who have taken up bike riding within the last 6 - 12 months, we meet at a park once a week and take turns watching the kids while the rest of us ride.
This race was a great place for them to start, the welcoming (yet still competitive) attitude of the other riders made it a really great environment for a first race. Kate Bradshaw ...rode five laps of the course, Lucy Most and Kristelle Campbell teamed up and did a combined seven laps, and I managed eight laps.
None of us managed a podium spot, but all of us are looking forward to improved results next year. It was the little wins like faster lap times, becoming confident overtaking people, conquering pinch climbs, and pushing the number of laps that left us all buzzing at the end of the race. My husband was our support crew, he wrangled kids, refilled water bottles, and pulled sticks out of wheels. Our kids (five between us) stood on the sidelines cheering not just us on, but all the riders!

I took my Malven Star bike, which I had ridden without checking whether or not the ties were flat, turns out they were, as such the inner tube needed replacing. The staff were very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Fixed on the spot, at a very reasonable price. Very good service, highly recommended.

Ordered a bicycle seat post through these guys because they are located close to where I Iive, and did not have the size I needed, and I had bought stuff through them before, but I never heard back (they said they would call me). So, after a week I called them, they said it was on order, but after 3 weeks, still no call. So I bought the post elsewhere. Should have done that after the first week. Problem was I left the broken post with them so I had to go to the shop again to get it. So... my conclusion is that they are disorganised and not worth doing business with... there are several other bicycle shops on the Central Coast.
