The ornate ceilings at est. are fitted with intricate reproductions from the original building - George Patterson House. Every detail nods to a rich history that makes a visit here enthralling. #estsydney

Great environment and services but the food too small portion. After paying $100 still hungry.

I ate here last night with a group of friends. The food and service was outstanding! I have been here 2 years ago but I don’t remember that experience. However, this time round, it left a VERY good impression! The oysters here are one of the best I have had in Sydney (I have tried many oysters all around Sydney). The presentation and taste of every dish was phenomenal! We had food from the chef’s menu. The dishes I had include the veal tartare, wagyu slices, cod and the soufflé for dessert. Service was prompt and food was served in a very timely manner. The most important thing was everyone’s dish was served at the same time. Honestly, this is what fine dining should be like. I would recommend this to family and friends and definitely come back. This restaurant really puts other fine dining restaurants I’ve been to, to shame!

Another edit: I absolutely LOVED the bread.

User

My absolute favorite fine dining restaurant in Sydney! The food and service are always impeccable.

User

It was a lovely fine dining experience. I love trying new things as well as enjoying the favourite French flavour combinations done well.

User

I enjoy fine dining and Est always takes it to another level.

The meals are good but the service is superb.

If you want to understand what silver service is all about this is the restaurant to experience it at.

Not a very nice experience. Our daughter booked this restaurant for last Saturday evening dinner for 4 of us as a Father’s day treat for me. All of us ordered tasting menu but I only ordered it with matching wines. Everything went well until 4th course, where I had to remind staff about not receiving the matching wine. This was followed with discourteous behaviour of the waitress in placing next wine glass. Red wine served with the next course was a very bad one, it tasted like nail polish remover, most likely left open for a long time. Had to ask them to replace it with a new one. Still no apologies or nothing of that sort. Then add insult to injury, they tried to over charged us by $130 which was pointed out and corrected. We enjoyed the food but whole thing left a bad taste in every one’s mouth.

Ate at EST dinner.Nicely redo of an older building. Staff were friendly, efficient.Very good recommendations for wine pairings. We had a 4 course option ( they have 3 and then a 7 course options) Great presentation and full of flavour. What stood out were the duck , wines and passion fruit soufflé.Would def go back if in Sydney, despite the bill. I highly recommend this venue !

Posh and pricey. Slow service (4 hrs), tough wagyu. Most of the food was exceptional. I think the wait-staff were hard working, but seem poorly directed. I asked 3 times for my cheque. When wait-staff realized I was frustrated they offered more food, where was the manager? For $300 / person I expect more.

Late post
Came here last year (Oct) for our anniversary dinner, a surprise planned by my husband, gotta say it was one of the best experience we had. The bread was free flowing, the waitstaff very attentive. The flavours of the food were spot on - we each had a three course meal. And at the end, they gave us a complimentary slice of cake for celebrating our anniversary (could've skipped dessert for this). Petit fours also came free of charge after dessert. Amazing food and service, will definitely recommend this place

User

Such great reviews, I can see why. We had the best meal of our lives. Great work

User

Used to love this place. Pretty good food however for this price we paid, my received only very average service and we were only a group of 6 on a standard Monday night dinner service. Step it up guys!

“Liberate your taste buds & dine here”
Peter Doyle you are a god, congratulations to you and your kitchen staff, I have frequented this restaurant many times and I make it a point of business to dine here whenever I`m in Sydney. The food is not only delicious it even looks like art, it is perfection on a plate. Just when I think wow what an experience, I come back next time and get blown away again. I think Peter Doyle should be knighted, you are a rock star!
