Establishment

This hotel is absolutely ridiculous. Worst sleep of my life. Literally above a nightclub. Housekeeping letting themselves in pre 9am as well. Would NOT RECOMMEND for the price especially. No attention to detail. Poorly trained staff. Having an expensive property simply isn't enough.

So I don’t normally write reviews but I felt as though I had to in this case. A group of 10 of us from work went to the Establishment Bar for lunch. The majority of us ordered from the Thai menu which sounded amazing. The food looked and tasted great. A few hours after lunch we became sick - with symptoms of vomiting and diarrhea. We quickly concluded that this was a result of the lunch and in particular the seafood options on the menu. Fortunately, these effects didn’t last longer than 12 hours. This was very disappointing as the atmosphere, service and staff of The Establishment were excellent. Unfortunately, the quality of the ingredients let the whole experience down. In the future, I would think twice about returning.

Nice place, good music, great drinks. Staff are also nice. Just hardly anywhere to sit to chill. Gotta rent it out

Somewhere different to stay (hotel).....very cool, very hip.

Gym is small, I would recommend getting some type of partnership with a local gym for guests (ie guest passes for guest staying at hotel). Then you can convert that little room to something else (or leave as is for ppl wanting a basic basic workout).

Liked the different bars...good for bouncing around all night and the access to Mr Wong’s.

Not made to feel comfortable by rude staff at all. Bar surface is different levels designed to spill your drinks and no compensation offered... very bad bar indeed. Do not recommend!

Nice place. Perfect for after office drinks, nice bar, relaxed area on the back as well. Staff are very polite and nice. Most people here come a bit more dressed up.

Awesome place, atmosphere, food and bar service, but the DJ last night (salsa) was really unfriendly when we tried to request a song (even being a latin song). It was quite unpleasant!

Last nite i have been to the ground floor bar for a drink.
I have ordered a gyn and tonic and and a beer. With surprised this morning I have checked my statement and i found out i was charged $21.65 for it. BE CAREFUL WHEN THEY CHARGE YOU!!

We had a great time here. Bar looks and feels the part. Bar staff all good looking and service great. Only visited Sydney briefly but really pleased.

I can't comment on the inside of The Establishment, because myself and my friends weren't let in. After walking in the rain to get to The Establishment a few minutes before lockout, we were told we couldn't come in. The bouncer offered no explanation of policy except for repeating 'It's lockout' with a grin on his face. 'But lockout is 1:30, it's only 1:28' was responded to with a grin and 'It's lockout'. If some explanation of policy was given, beyond just the bouncer taking pleasure in not letting us in, I would have something nicer to say.

Terrible management. Very rude and wouldn't let us in because apparently they decide the lockout laws in Sydney. Not to mention overpriced and filled with the kind of people that you would benefit from excluding from your life. Could find higher quality people at Star Bar or Century Bar if it was still open.

Bloody waste of money and our effort to have lunch here on Saturday. Bloody lousy food very limited menu . Ordered Berts pie....tasted like pie face and the standard also cheap...but of course not the price at $18. Seared salmon so, so ridiculous with their portion - the salmon was tiny, as wide as my 2 fingers together, olive tabouli is a joke with some watercress which have turned yellow. A GOOD LESSON NEVER WANT TO GO THERE ON WEEKENDS.

Great place for lunch. Self serve, so there is no wait. Wide and open spaces for lunch with very cool music to give good ambience to the restaurant. Absolutely loved the meal, had a Thai special dish of the day (wonderful) and the chocolate mousse (also to die for). The inside terrace is amazing with a sense of peace. They also have salsa nights! Without a doubt, one of the best places for a bite in the CBD.
