National Quality Framework for Australia
The Australian Government, in partnership with all state and territory governments in Australia, have made an important change to early childhood education and care in Australia to ensure that all children across our nation get the very best start in life.
The National Quality Framework is made up of 4 key components; The National Law, The National Regulations, The National Quality Standard and the Early Years Learning Framework.
Explore & Develop Services are guided by the National Quality Framework in its everyday operations as Approved Early Childhood Education and Care Services.
Early Years Learning Framework
Explore & Develop Early Childhood Education and Care Services embrace the Early Years Learning Framework throughout the development, implementation and reflection of our learning environments, experiences and interactions with children, families, our peers and wider community.
The Early Years Learning Framework has a place in our everyday interactions, practices and personalised educational curriculums. The Early Years Learning Framework, as well as educator knowledge is seen clearly within our services, documentation and the language of our educators in practice.
National Quality Standards
Explore & Develop, as approved Early Childhood Education and Care Services, are assessed and rated under the National Quality Standards.
Explore & Develop embraces the National Quality Standards in its everyday operations and works in partnership with all children, families, educators and the wider community in ensuring the practices at our services are at the highest level.
Home-like Learning Environments
At Explore & Develop, we believe that learning environments should be reflective of the home life, this is to ensure continuity and a sense of feeling safe and secure in a home away from home.
Explore & Develop Educational Curriculum
Explore & Develop Early Childhood Education and Care Services are privately owned and operated and therefore the design, implementation and reflection of early childhood educational curriculums is prepared at an individual service level. This means that the educators that are educating and caring for your children are designing the learning opportunities and environments with your child and their peer group in the forefront of their minds.
Explore & Develop Transition to School
Explore & Develop Early Childhood Education and Care Services help to lay the foundations for lifelong learning skills to develop through thoughtfully implemented learning opportunities in the years prior to school which help to identify readiness and prepare children and their families for the transition to primary school.
Our early learning curriculum is based upon the interests of the children within the group as well as intentional teachings which promote specific skills and understandings to further develop.
Our qualified and experienced educators assess children’s’ learning and development during their time at Explore & Develop and correspond with families on a regular basis, ensuring that families have an informed understanding of their child’s developmental capability (as observed at Explore & Develop) prior to them starting primary school.
Explore & Develop work closely with local schools each year, prior to our school leavers moving on from Explore & Develop, to ensure that we are aware of the most current teaching styles and recommended learning outcomes for children in their year prior to attending primary school.
Our Transition to School Curriculums are designed in conjunction with the ‘Early Years Learning Framework’ for Early Childhood Education and Care, ‘My Time, Our Place’ National Framework for Primary School, and the NSW Board of Studies guidelines for Kindergarten.
