Festival Of Dangerous Ideas

The Festival of Dangerous Ideas (FODI to its fans) is bold, audacious, and thought provoking. Never shocking just for the hell of it, it is a curated festival with a long history of bringing credentialed people from all over the world to gather and share. FODI is unique in how it blends talent from a range of disciplines, backgrounds and perspectives. FODI holds uncomfortable ideas up to the light and challenges thinking on some of the most persevering and difficult issues of our time, questioning our deepest held beliefs and desires. As a home-grown Sydney festival, established in 2009, FODI is known for being at the zeitgeist of ideas. It brings attention to the looming issues we will soon be facing and tackles intractable wicked problems from different angles. FODI is for curious minds, who are hungry for more information and eager to connect with others that also want to better understand the world and their place in it. Across eleven festivals and counting, FODI has hosted local and international experts from a diverse range of disciplines. It was presented at Sydney Opera House for eight years and has since been presented by The Ethics Centre at iconic Sydney locations including Cockatoo Island, Sydney Town Hall and Carriageworks. Since the beginning, partnerships have always been an integral part of FODI's success. As a not-for-profit, FODI could not be produced without the generosity of our supporters and donors. We want to work with partners who seek to differentiate themselves from the pack. Who are brave. Who are bold. Who think about the future – the opportunities and the risks.
