Tonight marks the end of Captain Damian Buchtmann’s employment as a Retained (on-call) fire fighter.
Next week he’ll ‘re-ignite’ his career as a full time Permanent Firefighter along with 13 weeks in the state training college as a new recruit.
Congratulations on achieving your dream. You’ve been a real asset to FRNSW so far and will continue. On behalf of the Port Macquarie community, THANKS.

Bushfire Fuel Reduction is necessary to protect life and property in your community and also native flora, fauna and the environment from the extreme effects of summer bushfires, which impact severely on our native bushland each year.

A combined effort from Fire and Rescue Port Macquarie, Port Macquarie SES and Ambulance NSW successfully release a patient from a motor vehicle accident on Ocean Drive.

Our “Climb Fighters” will be serving up the bangers at Bunnings tomorrow (Friday) so drop in and grab one for lunch. And know that you’re helping find a cure for MND.

Just before 2am, A call to a fence alight rapidly becomes a fully involved garden shed.
We quickly responded 2 crews to reduce the risk of further fire spread.
