Fitzroy Inn

Had some time to kill before a job in Bowral and noticed the Fitzroy Inn offerred a Menu for cars to be replenished as well as Humans.

Arrived there and plugged my Tesla into a healthy free supply of electrons, walked inside and sat down to a extremely reasonably priced continental breakfast.

With some reserve i poured myself a cup of "Americana Coffee". The filtered type we Sydney food snobs would normally look past. First sip....that can't be right! That actually tastes very good I thought. Second sip, quickly turned into 2nd cup.

I'm always so happy to be positively, pleasantly surprised by some element of a business's offerings. Well done!!

Beautiful building. Loved the stay. Self guided history tour was alot of fun and the dinning was amazing. The owner John was very welcoming and helpful. Fantastic stay. Highly recommended.

Beautifull settting ..Wonderful staff

Food was tasty although the mains size was quite small. Noise from the kitchen was quite intrusive during speeches.

We enjoyed a very special Christmas in July featuring Yelverton Truffles. This culinary experience is too good to be true. Tina and Steve are a fantastic duo who make you feel like family every time we visit. They have even installed a Teslar refuelling station for their diners.
You will love the Fitzroy Inn's sandstone fireplaces and floors.

Lovely place to stay. Grounds had a tennis court, games rooms, restaurant. Wifi didn't reach the room we were in so you wouldn't count on it, but there is free Wi-Fi in the lounge areas around the building.

What a shame it is that this beautiful place is run by such an awful, awful man.
John the owner is so unbelievably rude to guests who are paying money to be staying there (including myself multiple times and my family and friends at my brothers wedding) and also to his staff. There is a lovely lady who does housekeeping at the Fitzroy Inn by the name of Rosie. She was the most helpful and polite person in the whole place. Rosie was reprimanded so unfairly and was treated so cruelly by John in front of multiple guests on more than one occasion which was completely unprofessional and sad to see.
I think its more concerning that such a nice space can be so stained by the stink of unprofessionalism to the point that there is no way I would go here or have a wedding here, purely so that I never have to cross paths with such a horrid man again.
save yourself the hassle. it's unfortunately not worth the money.
