Welcome to Fitzroy Inn, one of the finest country inns in the scenic Southern Highlands of New South Wales. Only one hour from the centre of Sydney by car and 2 hours by train.
Set on the edge of a rural town, this charming Victorian colonial building with its wrap-around veranda opened as the Fitzroy Inn in 1836, and was the first lodge or guest house in the State to provide rooms as well as liquor.
Today, the Fitzroy Inn continues that hospitable tradition and recently reopened as a country inn with a fine restaurant, set amidst five acres of tranquil, terraced gardens with a stream flowing through it. The estate is situated amongst the rolling hills of the Southern Highlands on an acreage dotted with century-old oaks overlooking Alexandra Mountain.
The lavender-lined driveway, beautiful gardens and picturesque paths lead to the lovingly restored Inn where a warm welcome awaits. Courtyards, corridors, light, airy bedrooms and a basement so rich in yesteryear – you can almost hear the footsteps across the stone floors or the echo of whispers from the past.

Very poor. Went for a tour of the property. Was expecting an interesting tour with a guide to explain the history..but had to go looking for someone to make an enquiry as there was no one available. Was told to put money in a box..given a paper guide and left to our own devises. Lovely old property but dont expect any info or service directed at the tour
