Absolutely recommend visiting. The museum is interesting and the temple and pagoda is brilliant, you can't help but feel transported to another place. Just be weary that like all places of worship, there are rules about modesty and behaviour that should be adhered to.

Definitely worth to visit and say 'hello' to Buddha in person! It's amazing to see huge Buddha temple in Australia. Thank you for renting this huge land to this temple at $1 a year! Read the history, it's pretty interesting.
There is a vegetarian restaurant, friendly staff decent food.

A fantastic site that is definitely worth a visit. The architectural design is spectacular and the staff members are very helpful. The restaurant has a large option of vegetarian meals that are delicious.

A place where you can find peace. Much better if you can go during school days.

Large Buddhist temple near Wollongong. It's beautiful, very clean and the guides inside can offer a lot of interesting information about Buddhism. The calligraphy class in the Pagoda was fun. The public transport is a bit lacking and the temple is located in an industrial district near a major highway. This combined with plenty of tourists visiting it daily it is not as tranquil as it seems from the photos.

Tranquil serenity just a short drive from
Wollongong. Once or twice a year my boyfriend and I make a special trip from sydney to meditate and reflect here. We sit near the lotus pond and light incense in the main building. The vegetarian food hall has a great set menu that's worth checking out. The tea house is al la carte and also very special. My favourite is the jasmine tea jelly.

Very Serene and peaceful. Well maintained temple and beautiful grounds. No singlets or shorts allowed, please cover up!

This is the largest Buddhist temple in the southern hemisphere. The land was acquired for $1 and Prince Charles donated $18mil to build this temple. Sadly it is ran like a commercial company rather than the buddhist teaching that it preaches.

Most times this place is very quiet and relaxing. When you go inside the temple you take your shoes of and the smell of the candles is amazing.

There is a lot to see if you like relaxing surroundings.
