Really nice ambience and service. Food was also well presented and tasted awesome. The only concern was limited option was vegans. Hope to go soon again ...
Cozy pub. Good beer, good food.
It's a fancy restaurant that happens to be attached to a pub but it's not your average pub food. Good was good and generously portioned. The squid was very good and tender.
Popped in there last night for dinner and a couple of beers with some mates. The beer was nice and cold and the food was fantastic!! Try the Tomahawk. The beans and corn as sides were also good. Most importantly the service was top notch. Will certainly be back.
Cosy pub with good food. Sports on the decent screens but without sound - except for the big events.Very attractive female bar staff... it's Paddington ;-)
So disappointing! Used to be great gastro pub. Now the food is below average. They can't cook a steak, asked for medium rare it came out well done. Took 25 minutes to recook a medium rare steak (not sure how this is possible). Terrible service.
Really nice 'local' feel. Friendly staff and a good drinks selection, pleasant decor. Does have a bit of a sports bar feel which isn't for everyone (me included), but you can still have a comfortable chat in a group even at the central bar.
Having heard great things, I had always wanted to try this restaurant. At first I was a little confused - because it seemed like a pub, but then I found the restaurant hidden out the back. Apparently this is a trendy thing now - in New York they even have restaurants that look like hot dog carts and so on - but out the back they have hidden a much fancier restaurant. Very clever to do it with a pub.
I'm a big meat eater and had heard the chef here practised a style of cooking where the entire animal is used, nothing is wasted. I believe it is called ass-to-mouth cooking. I think the chef might have changed though - this seemed more French? As it turned out the meal was delicious anyway - even my wife liked it, and she is a vegetarian - she definitely isn't a fan of ass-to-mouth! Opposites attract I guess.
Great location and vibe. The food is fantastic. The service is great.
You know it's fancy when the toilet has a Dyson hand dryer lol
Came for lunch and the first thing I notice is the giant squid painting they have on the wall,a nice touch and the modern decor is also what stood out
Food wise ordered the pork belly entree
The wife was really impressed but while I liked it I found the pork skin to be salty
Mains I had the swordfish and the wife had the the lamp rump
She felt the swordfish tasted better though
I liked the broth that came with the swordfish and it goes well with the clams but I had didn't expect the purée to be spicy
The lamb rump, she felt there was too much fatty meat on it but isn't rump in general fatty? The beans/lentils that came with it was nice
Food took a while to come out
Service wise while staff was attentive but our mains took a while to come out
My wife loved it but I was expecting more
Came here for lunch, midweek, was nice and quiet, food was great, service was great.
Overall a great experience.
Really disappointing...used to be our regular. Weekly date night dinner pub.
Changed hands a few months ago. Gave it some time to settle in.
First night back. Ordered snapper. Snapper under done and tasteless. Hand cut soggy chips looked like frozen wedges and were oily and left off the dish until I asked. Chicken schnitzel my partner ordered ws half the size of the pictures and coleslaw was tasteless, mash was warm at best. Won't be back
