Frankies Auto Electrics & Custom Car Audio

I inquired about a product I was looking for and told them my budget, the salesmen went away and when he came back he informed me the best he had was 40% more than my budget and was a poorly made and cheap brand.
I explained I didn't like the brand and that they are cheap, I was aggressively told that "No, they are the best in your price range ok!" And that I should buy the item. I asked about another brand that was exactly in my price range and had a good reputation and specs, advertised as available on their website, after a lengthy wait the man came back and informed me they didn't have it in stock and that I would be much better off buying the previous brand he suggested.

This showed a distinct lack of customer service and knowledge of the products he was selling. I did not appreciate being told in a very condescending way that I didn't know what item I wanted and also did not appreciate having a known inferior product pushed on me.

Edit: I was contacted on Facebook messenger by the owner of the company expressing his apologies. He explained that whilst he was not at the shop that day, it still affects him when a customer isn't happy and with profuse apologies he offered for me to come back instore anytime and receive a $50 gift voucher for the store.

This was very appreciated and whilst I had an unpleasant experience with one staff member I have had a positive experience with the owner of the shop.
I am sure the owner will be having a quite word to his staff about customer service and if they can take some tips from him then so much the better.

I have only ever shopped at Frankies for all my car audio needs. The staff are always fantastic and always advice which products will work best with my set up. They changed my brothers car battery on the spot without a booked appointment while they were flat out. Since I discovered the complimentary jar of lollie pops I go into the shop quite regularly and have a chat with the guys. They are a great bunch, keep doing what your doing 😊

Great products and superb service. Always know what i need. Nothing too much trouble and the staff are so pleasant and greet you every time. Would not hesitate to shop here again and will recommend to all my family and friends 5 star service. Thanks Guys

Frankie gives his word which should be his bond,Luckily he was a man
of his word and I got a partial refund.said if i was not happy with his findings ,which where his on my behalf,not mine.full refund would be given.
I stated a partial refund would be okay.
No word from him at all.Was told he was overseas,but someone else who was left in charge could have dealt with this.

Got a partial refund, but did not talk to frank.
Dealt with personnel that works there.
We have been going there for other things over the years,it only takes something or someone to make it go pear shaped fast.
Both for the customer and the owner.
More diligence is required,as is Doing it right the first time.
We will go back in the future, hopefully to get better results.

I wanted to change out the factory 2-DIN of my Corolla because the Auxiliary port went flakey and the sound quality wasn't that good in the first place. I decided on a Kenwood system because the rep told us that they were very compatible with Toyota steering wheel controls. All up $300 inc. installation.

Come installation day and the rep notified me that the unit actually wasn't compatible with the wheel controls and that he could change it out with a Sony unit or install a Kenwood converter for an extra $90.

I ended up going for the Sony and it was ready in an hour. The unit fits nicely and the sound quality is quite an improvement over the stock unit, thanks to the MegaBass on the Sony.

All up the service was fast and professional, although I was a bit disappointed that they couldn't check the compatibility beforehand. But I don't feel ripped off compared to the other reviewers here.

I was in search of good driving lighting products for my car from a long time. My search ended at Frankies auto electrics. The products they offer are amazing and are reasonably priced. My Thunder LED Driving Light works perfectly and was a product which I was longing for a long time.

Frankies Auto Electrics were doing a great deal on the Redarc TowPro Elite brake controller and quoted $500 fitted. It is the brake controller I wanted and they could fit it rightaway. I was there before 9.30am and they jumped right onto it. I had a 7 pin plug on the car and a 12 pin on the caravan so asked them to replace the plug while they were installing the brake controller. It took the fitter 3 hours to complete the job when they knew I had other appointments top go to. There is no waiting room to relax while the work is done and the final charge was $625. Everytime I walked to the workshop the fitter was doing other things and they told me to wait in the front of the shop. Quoted me $650 retail for a GME UHF kit which I priced at Auto Barn for $490 and then told me he could do a special price at $499 plus $150 fitted. Do your research before you go to frankies.

DISGUSTING!! RUDE! AGGRESSIVE! DISHONEST! RIP OFFS!! I bought a brand new battery for my car 31st May 2016. So still under warranty. My car won't start so took it to a mechanic and auto electrician who both said the battery has a fault! Took my car in today after first calling them, tried telling me it was everything BUT their battery! I just put rego on my car 3 weeks ago.. nothing wrong with my car!
REFUSED TO REPLACE MY BATTERY UNDER WARRANTY !! When I said I will go to Fair Trading he got smart and said "want the number"...
BUYER BEWARE !! DEPT OF FAIR TRADING IT IS THEN !!

Had a new UHF CB fitted this morning. Excellent experience as per these reasons:
- Friendly customer service
- Can do attitude
- Very reasonable pricing
- Installation quality was great!
