Gameford Pet Resort

We have boarded our fur baby (English Staffy) multiple times over the past 3 years at Gameford and have always had a positive experience.

Our Staffy has skin irritations from preservatives in most commercial dog foods and is on a full raw diet to help with this. Upon request we were able to provide all her food which we pre packaged and labeled with date/day number for each day she was in care. We confirmed by phone that she was able to eat the food we provided and not be fed commercial dry/can food.

The only negative would be that considering we provided all our dogs food (we provided 10 days worth individually packaged, labels and sealed so there was no food provided by Gameford) we were still charged additional for the administration of 1 x daily antihistamine tablet to be put in her food that we provided. In the times we have used the services of Gameford this is the first time we have ever been charged additional for this so I was a little surprised to be asked when driving off up the driveway to stop and go back in the office to make a second payment to pay the additional fees especially since we supplied 10 days worth of food and still paid full boarding fees.

The only thing that I could recommend is maybe offering an extra hour in both the morning and afternoon for drop off / pick up as this would be helpful for pet owners as when travelling back from holidays especially when travelling from overseas it can be difficult when there is only 2hrs in the morning and 2 hrs in the afternoon as provided office hours..

Our dog is like one of our children so we will only board her where she will be treated well and taken care of like she is their own pet. Our fur baby is always happy and healthy when we collect her....I would recommend this pet boarding facility to people needing to board their dog / cat....😊

Have boarded my dogs at these kennels for over 10 years and are always happy to return each time the service is excellent and the owners very friendly and helpful the kennels are A+++ condition

Mike why don't you tell the real truth. You boarded 2 very old Dogs and on the last time the 12 1/2 year old (large breed) passed away in his sleep and your 13 1/2 year old (large dog) went home happy and healthy.
You were notified and told before you arrived to pick up your dogs. We explained what and how your dog passed away 2 nights before you arrived home from overseas.
You were given every consideration a person could possibly be given. We returned your dogs collar etc we gave you pictures of how we found your dog lying on his bed. When leaving you said thank you for the service. You knew that we had done everything we could do to assist you.
You said thank you and then you decided to contact the RSPCA a couple of weeks later who did a full inspection of the conditions of our Boarding Kennel including all our records without notice.
The RSPCA Inspector said that this was the first time there had been a complaint regarding our Kennel & they have never had to visit our Boarding kennel on a complaint in 32 years and that our kennels were of high standard and also our records and that we had nothing to be concerned about. Customers need to understand that no one including themselves can fully guarantee that a pet particularly and aged pet will not die in their sleep as when their time is up god will call them home to be with him.
Same as are he does with humans. You signed the agreement that all customers sign and given a copy for your records.

Rule of thumb on dogs life span -
Large Dogs - up to 8 years of age after that they are on borrowed time.
Small dogs - up to 10-12 years of age that they are on borrowed time.
