🌱 Exploring our way through the garden today🌱 Discussions were had today by the children about keeping our environment clean and tidy. The children did an amazing job at weeding and shoveling all the mulch which was a big task for us all. Lucky we had some mini tradies to help us get the job done!!

This week we are exploring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture at Gardner Farm in celebration of NAIDOC Week! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
To show our respect and thanks & help children begin to understand ways in which we can be respectful and make connections with our First Nations communities, we have made a special 👣 “Meeting Place” 👣 in our top garden which will be used daily for our School’s Acknowledgement of Country.
... 😁 Acknowledgement of Country is a special way of acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land our school stands on. It is also a time we can say thank you to our Aboriginal friends, families and communities who share this land with us now.
Furthermore it is a time we can make an effort to respect and look after the land and any people or animals we come across here. 😊
🐛 We consulted with friends from our local Koori community to help develop our Acknowledgment of Country. Thank you to Aunty Cleone & Aunty Melissa from Waminda South Coast Women’s Health and Welfare Aboriginal Corporation & Aunty Pat from Shoalhaven High School for sharing your knowledge with us! 💖

Parents/Children who do not usually attend Thursdays, please arrive at 9:20am for a 9:30am start. You will be in the priority line so you don’t have to wait around too long! 😃😃
