Geetanjali School Of Dance and Performing Arts is run by Sharmila Maitra, a dancer and teacher with endless passion and talent for dance. Having specialised in the traditional Bengali Folk, Kathak, Kuchipudi, Bharatnatyam, fusion bollywood, and Odissi, Geetanjali Dance School caters for a wide range of dancing styles and is well known around Sydney. Sharmila's talent is showcased through her students and her outstanding commitment to the development of Indian culture and art in Australia. The main aim of this school is promoting individual talents, teaching traditional values and culture, and encouraging co-operating & leadership skills.

The school is located In Sydney, Baulkham Hills. The students have been continually invited to participate in the NSW Art Gallery, The Sydney Parliament House, The Canberra parliament house, and in major local community events.

Funds from regular classes are given to orphanages in India and various charities in Australia such as Westmead Children's Hospital, and the Red Cross.
