General Washington Hotel

Very rude staff member brought food out placed the plates down we said that
dish belongs to that person etc she responded you tell me first, we didn't get a chance to tell
her she just walked off .they were so rude in the ordering etc faulty towers

My father turned 70 and had overseas family visiting to celebrate. We booked the bistro for 20 people that afternoon - being told that it was no problem. On arrival the staff were rude and when asked if we could move the tables so that everyone could sit together the waitress started throwing tables around making everyone uncomfortable. The night proceeded with bad service. My sister approached the staff to complain and they spoke to her with disdain. We then rang the restaurant 'manager' the next morning to be told that her staff are excellent and that my sister was rude and had 'probably drank a bottle of wine' . If I could give them minus stars I would. My advice, eat down the road where your business is appreciated and the staff dont act as if they're doing you a favour.

Good old style pub. Great restaurant

A nice building with a great view of the ships floating past. Clientele? A smattering of old sea dogs, dining families and tourists. Food is amongst the best you'll get in Stockton (not exactly THE highest recommendation-yet!), good portions and friendly-ish service. Average beer, I'm afraid-come on, get some proper crafties in!
The washtub is the first place the tourists see as they get off the ferry. And that's a bit worrying. Greeted by posters advertising 'Friday evening ladies in lingerie' (are we in 1976 or something??!) and old skool decor that is...well, just a bit too old skool, the restaurant area in particular needs a serious refurb. The washtub could, and should, be an absolute gold mine, it just needs to see what they're doing on the other side of the river.
Stockton has changed-and if this place gets with the program, it will be cleaning up in no time.

Excellent food/service and better tap beers
