BUYERS BEWARE AVOID THIS CAR YARD

We brought a Subaru Outback from Glenn and the team. We even spoke to the garage owner next door who serviced it and sang nothing but praise.

We purchased the car and took it on a road trip and on the third day (1200 km’s later) the engine stared overheating and we discovered that both head gaskets had blown. We spoke to Glenn’s and only after quoting the fair ombudsman did he agree to fix it but his choice of garage/mechanic. Given that we were now 500 km away he also tried to get us to pay transport.

Our biggest mistake was not returning the car and getting a refund and our second mistake was allowing Glenn’s Quality Cars to arrange the repairs. We should have insistent a Subaru dealership. Instead the original garage (behind Glenn's Quality Cars) carried out the repairs. It took them several weeks (two weeks over the time quoted) due to inexperience of carrying out such as task.

We later discovered the result of this shoddy, illegal workmanship when we did take it to a Subaru dealership to get serviced and discover that timing cover had been cracked and WELDED up. Which would cost us approx. $3000 to replace amongst other things…

This has been a nightmare journey that I wish I would have never begun. I lost a lot faith in humanity. And I was under the foolish assumption that the used car market was better regulated internally.

Advice to people looking to buy used cars is know your rights and get an independent garage to check it out! $150 is better spent than a $9000 loss DOH…

Buyers BEWARE!!!! KEEP AWAY FROM THIS CAR YARD!!!!!
4 days into owning the Ute the Air condition vents failed. We called Glenn and told him. My son was devastated. With several emails & phone calls regarding payment for the repair which was still under warranty, Glenn wouldn’t pay for the repair as it was not going to his preferred mechanic. The repair cost came down to $484.00 the labour fee. Even after Mazda Australia gave my son a new heater box at no cost & halfed the labour fee out of good will.
HE WOULD’NT EVEN PAY BACK MY SON HIS $484.00!!!!!!

As we live 2hrs away from Mulgrave, it was best that we took the Ute for repairs close to home & to a Mazda workshop. The repair on this was substantial & it comes with a guarantee.
The Department Of Fair Trading also said he was extremely difficult to communicate with.
This car yard has left a extreme foul taste in my mouth...
You play with snakes.......You will get bitten & that is exactly what GLENN is.

Glenn we were very polite.. In fact we called several times to talk to you but you never return our phone calls. We where threatened that you will send a tow truck to get my sons Ute. You took my 18 year old son’s money.
The fact is GLENN, I did all of your homework for you & your staff. I called MAZDA AUSTRALIA to get the quote reduced from $ 1,998.00 DOWN TO $484.00. You still didn’t even pay for that, for it was a 2 day repair. We live two hours from your preferred repairer. We explain our circumstances to you & your staff. This not a personal attack on you I’m simply warning innocent buyers like my son about your grubby salesmen like you, who should keep on going to the next car yard.
So GLENN would you tolerate this robbery if it was your child???!

Couldn't say a bad word!! I've been stressed out of my mind shopping for a new car for the past couple of weeks, and thank God I found Glenn!! He was so easy to deal with, he was extremely helpful, and did an awesome package for me with my car and the finance to go with it. Thank you so much once again!

I was recommended to this car yard by a friend and purchased a great BMW from them . It is a fantastic car and have had no problems at all. It was immaculately detailed when I picked it up.
They also organised my finance quickly and without a problem . Staff were friendly and helpful and went above and beyond to get me the car I wanted and delivered when they said they would.
No hesitation in recommending them.

I got a great car from this place but a sour taste was left in my mouth when trying to get a refund of the extended warranty when I decided it did not suit my needs.

I was told I could buy the car without the extended warranty for $500 less. At the time the extended warranty seemed like a good idea so I included it in my purchase. When I picked up the car a week later and settled the balance, the warranty paperwork stated the premium paid was ‘$0’ but I unfortunately I didn’t notice this, as the $500 was wrapped up in the total purchase price of the car.

Buried in the fine print is that you are bound into 10,000km service intervals, which in my case was more frequent than the manufacturer requires at 15,000km. In addition, it must be done at a service centre with an invoice produced, which means a family member who is a licenced mechanic cannot do the same service for you at mates rates on Saturday afternoon at home.

When I went to exercise my cooling off rights under the PDS and obtain a refund of the premium, because the car yard had recorded on the paperwork to say the warranty premium was ‘$0’, I was refused a refund. This was because, on paper, “they” and not “I” had paid for the warranty. Unfortunately the Financial Ombudsman couldn’t help me because of my initial mistake of not picking up the ‘$0’ in the warranty premium price, and the stated reason from the dealer that "they wear the cost of the premium as a benefit to the customer".

Be very careful with this mob when it comes to accuracy of the paperwork if you decide to buy an extended warranty. It was a shame because I got a good car and would have recommended people to buy from there, but not now because of my experience.

Great and helpful until I wrote good review so don't write a review until you are certain the car has all problems resolved under there so called 3 month warranty
As soon as they get a good review from you they run with it and there's no help BAD BAD BAD CAR DEALERSHIP

I brought my Nissan navara on 17/03/2017 it's a great car but having clutch issues / thrust race bearing I've had checked needs repaired I've had 3 mechanics look at it and have been told not to drive it the 2.5 hours back to dealer and on inspection they found couple oil leaks and central looking no t working properly. The car seemed to lag blow a lot of smoke up hills it had way to much oil in it about 3/4 inch to much which was the issue . Emailed dealer 3 times and called twice and got no call back or response and third call he answered with a lie that his been away but the previous calls I was told he was with customers . Do not buy any car my car was undrivible and didn't want to tow car to there repairer but didn't want to pay the price of repairs locally.
NOW THERE TALKING ABOUT SUEING ME FOR THERE MISTAKES ...
PLEASE NOTE IT IS STILL UNDER THE 3 MONTH CAR YARD WARRANTY MY OPTIONS TO THEM WERE..
1 TOW CAR TO THERE REPAIRER BECAUSE NOT SAFE TO DRIVE
2 REPAIR DAMAGED BEARING AND ILL DRIVE UP TO GET REST FIXED
3 PAY TO GET FIXED LOCAL
ALL WAS NO AND PAYED MY REPAIRER $600 HUNDRED DOLLARS WHICH I HAVE TO PAY REMAINING BILL and said towing will be to expensive so don't buy interstate because a tow is definitely out of the question

Would like to thank Darren and the team at Glenn's Quality Cars, there service was excellent and very accommodating to our needs and budget for my sons first car.
He is absolutely rapt with his first set of wheels, I would highly recommend them for the purchase of a vehicle .

Purchased a car from this garage because of the advertised one year warranty on all vehicles, have a problem with the car so contact dealer. They have no record of putting warranty through. Asked them provide me with a waiver of said warranty. Have called six times with promise of a call back and have has zero response. Have called Holden and they have booked me in for a free two hour diagnosis even though I haven't purchased the car from a Holden dealer which is amazing customer service. Overall very disappointed and would recommend being very careful to make sure you are presented with all warranty paperwork before purchase. I fell very niave trusting this dealer.
