Awesome place. Very friendly staff, always live place. Best camping site in NSW. Various adventure activities. Place is perfectly organised. Pretty good experience.

We camped with friends over the October long weekend. As I didn't organise the trip, I didn't dig too deeply into the facilities. I simply read the information on the website and thought it looked pleasant enough.

What I DIDN'T read on the website is quite staggering.

It doesn't mention camping in a field of horse manure. We tried to clean around the campsite, but walking anywhere in that field meant walking through dung. You simply could not avoid it.

I also didn't read that several hundred people would be serviced by 3 toilets & showers.

Or that the showers were so small that dressing after a shower would be an act of contortion that a Russian gymnast would find difficult (all while desperately trying not to touch the mouldy shower curtains).

On reading other people's reviews, I realise now how lucky we were that there was sometimes warm water in the showers at all. It seems other fields are cold water only, with no lights at all in the toilets.

Glenworth's responses maintain that's because people "love the adventure of “toileting by torchlight” and "The showers are cold and most of our customers don’t mind at all".

Really, Glenworth? Then put the dung, the queues for facilities, the cold showers, and the lack of toilet lights prominently and clearly on your website, so that people have an opportunity to read about it *before* they book.

We gave up and left at 1 pm on Monday. To see us off, the rubbish bins were overflowing from the night before, and there had been no paper in any of the toilets all day. Not my definition of "spectacular surrounds".

User

A really disappointing experience. This operator demonstrates no regard for customer welfare, comfort or satisfaction... they need to spend more time looking after people and less time paying lipservice to negative reviews. They have an excuse for everything and couldn't care less about customer feedback. Don't risk it - go elsewhere.

I can't even believe there are ratings below 5 star! We had such a wonderful day out there yesterday! Such a beautiful spot to relax and unwind from all the hustle and bustle. Horse riding was my favourite experience! The staff were beautiful ! I wouldn't go riding anywhere else!
The only thing I'll complain about is how sore my legs and butt were when we got off haha! I am even considering horse riding lessons now!

Fabulously well looked after happy horses and great hosts with your safety as their #1 concern. I'm an experienced rider (have my own horse) and these guys really know their stuff. Such picturesque surrounds so close to Sydney. A top quality setup!

Me and a few friends booked 2 hours horseriding adverture, We had an excellent group. Our leader Renee was wonderful, she was bubbly and friendly and we all felt comfortable with her, horses that were matched to the right riders. I was suited with britney and she had me cantering down the bush in no time, we all had a great time, definitely recommended this place to family and friends!!

Our first time camping as a family with our two kids, aged 8 and 6. We decided on Glenworth Valley over other camp grounds due to its proximity from Sydney and the activities on offer.

It's a lovely little campground with very clean toilets and shower cubicles - much cleaner than I was expecting! There are plenty of fire pits and rubbish bins that we saw being emptied regularly. A very well maintained site overall.

We arrived a few days before Australia Day so managed to get a spot close to a fire pit yet far away enough from fellow campers so as to still maintain some privacy. The day we left, being the public holiday itself, at least half a dozen other campers arrived so I can imagine it'd get quite busy (and possibly noisey) as each campground (there are a few) is not that big.

The only disadvantages would be the lack of a proper hiking trail and swimming hole. Poplin Creek is suppose to be swimable but having seen it in person, I can't imagine anyone would even if they managed to find a spot more than ankle deep.

User

Beautiful private valley 3000 acres of land, more than 200 horses. You can camp there and hire all the camping gear. Many activities to choose for instance horse riding, abseiling, kayaking, quad biking etc. We really enjoyed the time. Only thing when we were checking in, the reception seemed to be a bit disorganized and chaotic otherwise highly recommended to everyone. The place is just 90km north of Sydney.

User

Pretty good camping spot only a short distance from Sydney. They could use a few more toilets and have them cleaned more often for the price of staying. Fun creek to play in for the kids and you can light a fire if you wish. Buy firewood (all the natural stuff has already been collected) and ice before arriving, expensive to buy on site.

It's #throwbackthursday. Let's throwback to that time in 2010 we received an early morning call from a Sydney hotel concierge who had a visiting VIP megastar guest wanting to come quad biking at Glenworth Valley later that day on a break from touring. . "Yes sure, we're *totally* cool with massive megastars visiting us. They come here *all* the time" we said. . Our challenge was keeping the VIP under wraps from the 50 excitable school kids visiting us on a school camp that da...y. . On arrival our team quickly ushered the VIP to our quad biking area, successfully keeping them under wraps from the kids. Although one did manage to catch a sneaky glimpse, instantly recognising our guest however upon telling their classmates was met with disbelief. "Yeah, right" they said. . The VIP and entourage hit up our quad biking circuit and bush trails on their 1.5 hour quad biking adventure before returning to the city to perform at a sold out gig later that night. . So who was this mystery VIP? None other than Yeezy himself AKA Mr. Kanye West. . And yes, he gave his Glenworth Valley quad biking experience a thumbs up. . * Unfortunately there's no photographic evidence of this visit so you'll just have to take our word for it!

If I was able to give a zero I would.i purchased 3 horse rides for my wife and 2 teenage daughters for a 2 hour ride and camp afterwards as being busy thought it would be good for the girls.Packed and away they went on the 2 hour drive north only to be told once they got there that there was only 1 horse available so of they like the youngest could go for a ride while my wife and older daughter could opt for a quad bike ride.totally unacceptable. Also they didn't have the 3 of them booked in for the camping. Another note at the same booking a party of 6 who were booked In and a boyfriend and girlfriend were also turned away as there wasn't enough horses available .So home the came lost a full day and drove home 2 hours...this is a bloody disgrace and I cant wait to read the piss poor generic response that will follow this review..Now I get the pleasure of having to wait weeks to get a refund...
