Global Leadership Program (Glp)

Macquarie's international and multi award-winning Global Leadership Program (GLP) is an active global citizenship co-curricular education program. It is made up of interactive, interdisciplinary workshops on topical global issues, as well as a range of facilitated and self-directed practical experiences. Students gain skills and networks through a self-designed program comprised of local or international activities relating to international /cross-cultural affairs, foreign policy, human rights, cultural diplomacy and intelligence, languages, leadership, social justice, innovation and entrepreneurship for positive social impact. By participating in the GLP, Macquarie students develop the skills, awareness and intercultural competence needed to become confident global leaders. A multi award winning program: Global PIEoneer Award for International EducationThe GLP was awarded the 2019 in the 'Progressive Education Delivery' category in London, United Kingdom. The PIE is an independent media, recruitment and events company connecting a global community of professionals working in international education. Institute of International EducationThe GLP is the proud recipient of the Institute for International Education's 2017 Heiskell award for Innovation in International Education - Internationalising the Campus, in Miami, United States of America. Macquarie University is the first Southern Hemisphere university to receive the award in its 17 year history. NSW Government (StudyNSW)The GLP was awarded the 2018 NSW International Student Community Engagement Award (Joint Winner) in the Education Provider category. This award recognises the innovative way in which the GLP facilitates connection and engagement with community for Macquarie University International GLP Students, and also recognises the contribution that the GLP makes to the International Student experience in New South Wales.
