Injured Runner Update.
As you may be aware a runner was seriously injured during the Glow Worm Trail half marathon event on Sunday. This update is to provide information to those runners who rendered assistance and also as a place you can leave a message for Amanda, the runner who was injured.
Amanda has suffered several fractures of the skull, eye socket and cheek bone. Amanda is in a stable condition in Westmead and has her husband with her. The injuries are serious.
... The injury from what we can ascertain was a freak accident sustained when a large branch fell from high in a tree and hit Amanda on the forehead as she was running.
Mountain Sports would like to thank the runners who, without hesitation, rendered assistance on the trail, the runners who ran in with information and the EMS and MSports ground staff who worked together to bring Amanda in.
Further the level management of the situation by Deb from EMS enabled a smooth and appropriate level of care for an injury of this magnitude and both Mountain Sports and Amanda’s husband Andrew thank you.
For Amanda - we wish you some strong strong pain meds and plenty of them, a full recovery and lots of love from us all. At the moment you are in our thoughts often and we are keen to follow your recovery. We have received lots of emails checking on you, there is lots of trail love out there for you!! I hope someone will check and read these messages to you.

Hungry runners:
Lunch will be available Saturday and Sunday. It consists of a burger bar! Nom nom nom. Cost for lunch is $8 or $10 with a drink.
... In addition - the Coffee machine will be cranking - all day long.
If you are camping, you can cook your own in the Bush kitchen which will be available from 6pm - 8pm at the event hub. The kitchen is equipped with some pot burners, a bbq and a small oven. Please bring own Utensils, beer or wine etc :-)

If you missed out - you can register on the day. Entry forms will be provided. By sure to arrive 30 mins before the start time for your event. Also check the mandatory gear posted below! (No eftpos on the day).

MANDATORY GEAR
This weekend is forecast to be particularly chilly, with Newnes forecast to only reach 4 degrees maximum, and it’ll be colder on the higher parts of the race courses.
Runners in both the half and full marathons on BOTH days of the weekend will need to carry cold weather kit, as described on the website and also here. Please follow these guidelines- we will be checking!

Transfers.

There are two types of transfer:
... Runner to Runner. Distance
You can do either of these on the morning of the event. There is a transfer cost for each of these transfers. Please bring cash as there is no eftpos out there!
Q: What time do i need to get there to complete a transfer? A: minimum 20 mins prior to the event start.
Q: Can i transfer to another year or another MSports event? A: No.
Q: Will there be coffee there? A: Yes
