Go Whale Watching Description

Go Whale Watching Sydney is a family owned and operated business.

We believe in responsible and respectful whale watching practices. As a smaller company we have a strong focus upon customer service from the point of booking to the time we say goodbye after your cruise.

We invite you to book a cruise with us and let us share our love of the ocean with you.

Our skippers adhere to whale watching industry best practice guidelines and because we watch whales and dolphins year round we have gained a very good understanding of these animals. Our vessels are purpose built to ensure maximum viewing capability and your safety at all times.

We are committed to ensuring that our time spent with the whales does not negatively impact them and provides you with a positive and meaningful experience.

We like it when the media show us some love! This recent shot was published around Australia and the World. Amazing photo Simon congratulations :)

A very windy day out on the water, still plenty of whales going past Sydney should be a great weekend ahead.

User

Great day on the water, calm seas with no wind. Sorry for late post

User

A extremely pleasant and relaxed afternoon pods of Whales in every direction. The Whales just cruising by leaving the acrobatics for another cruise and another day. Maybe tomorrow? come along, its a great way to spend a few hours aboard True Blue or Explorer :)

Pretty great morning today! starting with the acrobatic Seal on the way out of the harbour, lots of Whales and some great tails. We spotted a few distant breaches and our passengers saw quite a close breach just off Bondi. As we made our way back we watched quite a few dolphins and Gannets feeding an a large bait ball. Bring on the afternoon :)

User

How Cool is that! Leaving the harbour just now and we came across the famous Opera House seal having a little morning tea :)

User

A quiet day on the ocean today with all the Whale pods switching to leisure cruise mode, still heaps of Whales passing by. Another glorious winters day in Sydney :)

User

Another top day watching Whales! Plenty of pods moving through and we were spoilt for choice on which ones to observe. Lots of tail slapping, distant jumping and a very very white Whale on the afternoon cruise, great stuff :)

User

Spectacular weather out on the ocean today with plenty of Whales on all our cruises. We saw a few distant jumps, lots of close encounters and a large pod of Dolphins riding the bow wave of True Blue. We ended up with a pretty cool sunset trip where we followed a couple of Humpbacks until the sun went down. Another great day Whale watching :)

A challenging day at sea with large swell, there were still whales sighted on all cruises. The highlight was the morning cruise with a juvenile whale breaching right next to the boat 3 times. Weather is looking better tomorrow.

User

Looks like the overseas media can't get enough of our incredible photos! how good is that :)

There has been a lot of interest in the Orca sightings yesterday. We have learned that they are a type C Orca which are not usually sighted this far north. Type C's are commonly thought to be fish eating Orca's. They usually reside in the Ross Sea. They do migrate but not usually as high as Sydney. A lot of people have asked why they were sighted this far north. We do not know the answer and it appears that there is a lot of speculation. Whilst we were with the Orcas there were humpback whales present and at times they appeared to be harassing them. However we did not witness a predation. It was certainly a very interesting interaction to witness. One that we will remember!

User

We came across some of the cutest new born Humpbacks on both our cruises today! Mum just could not wait for the warmer water up North. The one we saw in the afternoon was swimming above its mother with a huge adult escort on the outside making sure mum and calf made a safe journey to Queensland. Picture perfect weather today :)

User

Orcas Everywhere! As promised here is a small section of footage from yesterdays incredible encounter, you have to agree it does not get much better than that :)
Tune in to Channel 9 News at 6pm tonight :)

A KILLER OF A TRIP! Well that was a trip of a lifetime we were surrounded by at least 50 Killer Whales made up from three different pods. In my 15 years of whale watching I have not seen anything like that 🙂
We also took some pretty cool video, such a rare event for Sydney, Epic!
Pretty incredible photographs from JP Goodridge and Simon Millar

Super Whale watching weather today a little swell and lots of sunshine. We spotted multiple pods of Whales and ended up following a competition pod on the afternoon cruise aboard Explorer. Our other boat True Blue was close by watching pods to the left and right also surrounded by Dolphins, another enjoyable day :)

User

A little bit of rock and roll out on the ocean today, whales observed on both our trips, four separate pods in the morning and a great close encounter with a couple of humpbacks surfing along with the swell in the afternoon. Great fun :)

User

We had to work pretty hard for our whales today but managed to find whales on all our cruises, along with dolphins and lots of cool birds. It was a bit windy with a little bit of swell making for some exciting trips, another successful day whale watching :)

User

Well what a day of whale watching. Lots of wind and lots of great whales. Explorer had a great afternoon cruise out wide with active whales, and True Blue had a amazing mugging tonight on the sunset whale cruse. We have some video which we will post tomorrow.

User

We witnessed some spectacular tail throws today on our afternoon tour. These couple of juvenile humpback whales seemed to be seeing who could throw the best tail, another great day outside Sydney heads on the open ocean :)

I'd like just to give a short suggestion. You have a great opportunity to raise environmental awareness during this activity - just a short remind for people to sort their waste correctly in order to avoid that it ends up in the sea (where whales may eat some plastic) could be great. Otherwise, the activity was amazing. Thank you.
