Rock, pop, hiphop, electro: at the beginning of every month we shine our search light into the nation‚Äôs studios and clubs from Kiel up north to Weilheim way down south. Together with Z√ľndfunk, Bavarian Radio‚Äôs scene magazine, we showcase the latest music by riveting off-the-charts bands. Pop made in Germany can also be downloaded here.

"Germans don’t exactly have a reputation for stand-up comedy. But that’s not to say they don’t know how to make each other laugh", writes our Australian Berlin-blogger Brianna in her latest post for #biculturalurbanite: https://www.goethe.de/ins/au/en/kul/sup/a db/21320654.html

INTERVIEW WITH MARIELLA FROM SYDNEY
1. What is interesting about learning German? Learning German is a true challenge! I already speak 3 languages and probably German is by far the most complicated one.
... 2. What is ‚Äútypically German‚ÄĚ? Typically German I guess is how it's structured, organized and hard working (Long working hours!) they are.
3. If you had 24 hours at any destination of your choice in a German-speaking country, where would you spend them and what would you do? Italy (The province of South Tyrol/ Alto Adige). I am curious to find out how the German culture has integrated in such a contrasting country.
4. What are the biggest differences between Germans and Australians? I am Mexican and have been living in Sydney for the past 6 years so I can see the difference from another perspective. Australians are a lot friendlier/ sociable and have a chilled ‚Äėno worries‚Äô vibe. Sometimes Germans come across as a bit uptight or serious. Not necessarily correct, I think it takes time to build a relationship with them.
5. Is there anything Germany could learn from Australia? Vice versa? Work - life balance! I understand that Germans are very committed and hardworking people but having a work - life balance is equally important. It is ok to take some time off for yourself and enjoy life too!
