The Grace Cossington Smith Gallery creates a connection between art, artists and cross curricular education within Abbotsleigh and the local community.

Grace Cossington Smith Gallery Description

The Grace Cossington Smith Gallery is a not-for-profit project run by Abbotsleigh, an Anglican pre K-12 Day and Boarding School for girls.

Our goal is to provide a resource for teaching and lifelong learning that engages and inspires Abbotsleigh and its communities through compelling programming. The Grace Cossington Smith Gallery is committed to serving the public through free admission and an education program that reaches diverse audiences, including teachers, students from Pre-Kindergarten through Year 12, and adults.

The Grace Cossington Smith Gallery is located on the campus of Abbotsleigh, on the Pacific Highway at Wahroonga, NSW.

Vision statement: Our vision is to inspire Abbotsleigh students and our community to engage, create and appreciate the richness of art through a dynamic learning experience.

The Grace Cossington Smith Gallery is delighted to present Unconscious Places: Photography and History. Curated by Donna West Brett from the University of Sydney, the exhibition features four contemporary Australian photographers, Jane Brown, Richard Glover, Lynne Roberts-Goodwin and Kurt Sorensen whose work explores the conditions of place and location including the urban-scape, regional landscapes, and remote environments. The exhibition will be opened by Dr Izabela Pluta, UNSW Art and Design Saturday 8th September 2-4pm and Artist talks from 1pm.

Full house today as students enjoyed their parent organised exhibition of collaborative works produced by students from the Early Learning Centre to Yr 11 Visual Arts. The exhibition, on until Sat 25 Aug, includes an exhibition of 100 mini mystery masterpieces that will sell from Friday night for $100 each.
