In the journalist Bob Woodward’s new book, Steve Bannon told Donald J. Trump that he (meaning Trump) was for the common man, against crony capitalism and insider deals.
“I love that,” Trump said, according to Woodward’s account. “That’s what I am, a popularist.”
Woodward completes the scene: “‘No, no,’ Bannon said. ‘It’s populist.’
... “‘Yeah, yeah,’ Trump insisted. ‘A popularist.’”

Pacific leaders at the Pacific Islands Forum issued the Boe declaration on Wednesday night, calling climate change “the single greatest threat to the livelihoods, security and wellbeing of the peoples of the Pacific”.
However the forum communique was endorsed by leaders “with qualification”.
When asked at a press conference if those qualifications came from a country “beginning with A”, Enele Sopoaga, the prime minister of Tuvalu, confirmed that “the name of the qualifier, seeking qualifications [started] with capital A”.

Tara Rose, a single mother of three on Centrelink, writes about her struggles paying healthcare bills and making ends meet this winter, saying: "I’m also very mindful that I, like so many others who struggle with financial insecurity, have the ability to make do and get by, even if only just. I still often go without, however I’m very thankful that my garden is now delivering in terms of therapeutic relaxation and fresh, homegrown vegies that we have enjoyed and thrived on this winter."

The story of Jason Ball's coming out is not one story but hundreds of stories. As the first – and to date only – Australian rules footballer to come out as gay, his story has multiple layers that add up to him now being within striking distance of taking the Liberals’ blue-ribbon Melbourne seat of Higgins for the Greens at the next federal election.

#EXCLUSIVE: Guardian Australia has launched #DeathsInside, a major investigation tracking every known Indigenous death in custody from 2008 to 2018. • Our reporting team spent months reading every available coronial file on an Indigenous death in custody and converted them into this interactive, searchable database – because when we went looking for the figures three years ago, we could not find them. • There have been at least 407 Indigenous deaths in custody since the 1991 ...royal commission, and 147 that we were able to find since 2008. Many of these deaths could have been avoided. • Check the comments on this post to find more information about this major project from Guardian Australia.

88 days story?

Amazing how the guardian chose to not add all the details in regards to this story.

3 girls who had to be removed by police due to their behaviour (twice) get into the paper with their lies.

Most of the 88 day workers in Australia are great, but people like these 3 wreck it for everyone with their lies, behaviour, games, abuse, alcoholism, damage to hostel and vehicles, disregard for Australian laws, it’s pathetic how these type of people are “hard done by” Australia wide.

Seems to follow them around the country.
