About Halvard Dalheim City Planning Advisory

Over 35 years experience in city planning including extensive periods working in state and local government and the private sector. In the last decade a major focus has been leading metropolitan and regional planning for the planning departments in NSW and Victoria, including leading the current metropolitan plan for Greater Sydney, while on secondment to the Greater Sydney Commission. The focus of Halvard Dalheim City Planning Advisory is to: grow city planning capacity in people and organisations; provide independent and insightful advice on city planning, from metropolitan plans to town centres; foster collaboration between stakeholders and add to the body of knowledge on city planning. Recent activity has included working for the Western Parkland City Authority, including leading the development of their Economic Development Roadmap, Phase I report, providing advice to the NSW Department of Planning and Environment on employment policy, and being a member of an international evaluation panel assessing masterplans for Ho Chi Minh City. Currently Halvard Dalheim is also the Practitioner in Residence, at the University of Sydney, through the Henry Halloran Trust. He also teaches strategic planning at the University of Sydney where he is an Adjunct Professor, in the School of Architecture, Design and Planning.
