Hanging Tree Wines Description
Hanging Tree Wines offers one of the most welcoming cellar doors in the Hunter Valley - housed within an old cow-shed and complete with a heritage Blacksmith's Cottage, Horse-whispering lodge, duck pond and French parterre-designed rose bed. The Hanging Tree stands tall at the entrance of the property - the site where beasts (and rumoured bushrangers) were hung.
Our grapes are handpicked and handcrafted to produce various red, white, sparkling, sweet and fortified wines – all in our easy drinking, fruit driven style. We also produce olives and tapenades from our own olive grove on site, so pop in, try our award-winning wines, and see what else we have to offer!
The Hanging Tree Homestead, built in 2005, takes a commanding position on the 40 acre vineyard and comfortably sleeps 8 across the 4 suites. What a friendly and knowledgable team. Hanging Tree has a fantastic atmosphere and sells equally fantastic wine. My only disappointment is that we live in the UK and it's a bit of a trip to restock!
After coming to wine a little late in life, this was the first winery and wine tasting I had been too. We were told when we arrived by a couple who were there and already enjoying their tasting that we chose well for our first tasting. They were right! It was amazing. Beautiful place. Incredible wine and really really lovely people. It opened our eyes to wine for which I will be forever grateful. Spoken after consuming a lovely bottle of Verdelho after arriving home from our short trip. 😉
