Been there a few times as a Relative lives in the IRT building. Food is always awful, and service is terrible. How it has stayed in business this long is beyond me, save that it has such great views and unwitting tourists eat their. The Hygiene is disgusting and the food is always cooked incorrectly. Perhaps also the Tenants of the IRT keep it going. Anyway, avoid at all costs.
I have given up even attending invitations of a free meal at this appalling diner.
Soup kitchens would go out of business with the quality on offer.
The IRT which ownes the building should convert it into another use to spare the unsuspecting public.
The food at this place was atrocious, the quality was similar to something you'd expect to get at a school camp or army barracks. The vegetables seem to have been frozen and then microwaved before serving and the salmon tasted like it had been microwaved too. On top of that everything we ordered was drenched in either too much sauce or chutney making it almost inedible. The decor is also horrible, I felt like I was eating at a nursing home. It's a shame as the location is fantastic. The staff were polite butt never offered to refill our water or even ask if we would like more wine. Additionally when I ordered a bottle of wine they returned with a 375ml bottle that you would expect to get on an international flight. The only time the staff were attentive was when we got up to leave and they started clearing the table before my wife even stood up. My wife and I will NOT be going back
