Purchased ,a laptop was going to pay on a credit card, staff member suggested I pay it off over 12 months to get a credit rating. Realised later that I was signed up to flexi rent which meant I was renting not paying off goods. Will never shop there again, totally lost faith in a local business which my family and I have supported over the last 20 years.

It's not as big as other Harvey Normans, but what it lacks in size it makes up for with a pretty good range of products and very helpful and friendly staff.

Bought a new mobile phone and switched network providers. This process takes some time to accomplish, but the young lady assisting us was very friendly, very knowledgeable and very efficient. This made for a pleasant experience overall. We also got a good product for a good price.

Not going back to the tech department. Very rude. Had problems with my phone and treated me horrible and have treated other people i know badly also, one said "they treat you like an idiot". I definitely wouldn't recommend them. 😡

I just went in to purchase a new lounge & 3 of the staff members were standing around talking & they could all see I was standing there waiting to be served & not one of them bothered to come over & assist me. Great range, but very expensive. Not much parking available. Old building, and wheelchair access is through the DIMMEY'S store above via elevator. They need a newer building with better access.

Spend a couple of grand on a new custom lounge, arrived with tears in it. Went to the store immediately as per the delivery drivers instructions and at this point told there is nothing they can do to replace or fix the lounge. We have to wait estimated 3 months to even get someone to look at it. Will NEVER return. Next time I'll pay the extra delivery fee associated by going to a store in moss Vale or Canberra. This store has lost me completely now. Not the first time having issues with them so I probably should've known better.

Well i am not one for writing reviews. This time is different. I feel impelled to tell you about the service i got from these guys. I basically purchased a couple of laptops. I had decided what i wanted before i went to the store. After i got them i realised they were not what i wanted.

The truth is i thought well i screwed up. And yes i did but i did not expect the help i got. Basically they moved heaven and earth to make sure everything was sorted. The told me what would need to happen and when it would happen. They called me when they said they would and the products arrived when they said they would.

You just do not usually get this kind of service from a large company. They beyond what i would have expected to and should be proud. There service has won me as a loyal customer!

Just had a fantastic experience with the Tech team. Richard and Andrew were incredibly helpful. I was there to purchase just a laptop for a new course I was taking, and not only did they help me select an appropriate laptop, I was also able to buy an antivirus and Microsoft office and still stay reasonably close to my budget.

Always great service normally but on todays visit to buy a printer the sales person was very pushy to upsell and it was almost forced and desperate. What started off as good service turned to extremely annoying. I know he was doing his job but please learn when to stop. It gave me a bad taste leaving the store when it should of been a happy purchase

Terrible customer service after they take your money. My mother in law furnished her ENTIRE home from this store, her patio table arrived and was damaged. They said it would take about a month to replace as it was no longer in store. My mother in law did not want to cause dramas so left it for a couple months, but 8 months later, several phone calls made by me in between- and a final call to the managing director, we received it within a week. The sales person who was supposed to follow up had no initiative to do her job. In fact she had attitude, was argumentative and never apologised. Some type of compensation should have been organised by the director but clearly they just want your money and that's it.

Dealt with Michael in computers regarding a new modem purchase, he was very knowledgeable and knew exactly what we needed. Will definitely return for all future tech purchases.

There man that served use was really helpful, explained the options, the after sales care, warranty, delivery, measured the suite, took it apart and rebuilt it - REALLY HELPFUL! (Did smell a bit like cigarette smoke though).

The after sale care is probably one of the best on the market to be honest. Easily better than Nick Scali and on par with Plush but slightly cheaper.

They do have a great range here, so much stock crammed into the showroom which makes it easy to cross things off the list and explore possibilities.

I found that some of the products were slightly less in terms of quality compared to local competitors but Harvey Norman were also cheaper so makes sense I suppose.

Definitely worth a look before purchasing elsewhere however in the end we made the decision to pay more for a slightly better product. Tough call though - thanks for all your help!

Very bad service, especially product delivery. Once they sell the product and get the money, don’t care about customer at all. Bought a Samsung refrigerator from the shop and paid $50 for delivery. It took and 3weeks to deliver it to my premises and delivery boy was very rude, kept me waiting whole day during the weekend. Since then I have stopped going to Harvey Norman. Equivalent products are available at Bing Lee, cheaper price and free of cost delivery.

Showrooms look pretty old and dated. Service is a bit hit and miss. Range seems pretty comprehensive except in the IT section and parking always plentiful.

The delivery was horrible. They sent me a message to confirm the delivery would be between 12-4pm. The driver called me saying that will be late but will be there between 4-5pm. Still not here at 5:30 so I had to call him. He told me he was still 30-40 minutes away! I probably would not have known this if I hadn't called him! Also when I was angry about this and said that I've waited for a long time and I had something else to do at 6pm, the driver said you can reschedule it's not my fault. Never buying from them again.

I bought computer a month ago and found it was not as expected. I went to ask if it can be returned, replaced or repaired. But the guy with beard was very rude. His tone of response was not good. He said computer is not good because it was cheap product. He touched me when he was talking.He told me I expected good quality stuff in low price because I am from third country. I didn't want to argue further, so I returned home with no help.

This is not first time. In other day, I asked another guy if I can get discount on display price? He was also very rude. He could have said yes or no, but he gave me long lecture and gave lots of example of my own clothing.
Staffs are very rude and their level of tone and words are unacceptable. It is worst if you are specially from third country.

People giving good review must be staffs or their relatives.

I rang asking about Record Players. The woman who transferred the call clearly didnt know what I was talking about and I got transferred to furniture. A comedy of errors continued for five minutes between different places. It was easier for me to drive down and look for myself. Better training is required.

One star because I can't give no stars. My husband and I went in looking to spend $6000 on a bedroom package and a mattress, two ladies were to busy talking to each other. I have bought multiple furniture items from Donna who was very lovely and attentive to our questions. But the beast experience I've had with this store was the customer service provided by Peter who assisted me when I was having an issue with my Bourbon lounge. He showed me on their display model what was most likely the problem and explained how to fix it! It worked perfectly and I am so impressed that he offered so much assistance!

Outstanding service from Arthur at Moore Park Harvey Norman. I called at 8pm last night and my new washing machine has just arrived at 9.30 this morning. Having called another large appliance retailer several times yesterday, each time being put on hold for a long time with a loud, annoying jingle then leaving my name and not being called back, I will call Moore Park Harvey Norman first next time. The delivery guys were cheerful and efficient with a tricky removal and install. 5 stars!!

So the day I was so keen and looking forward to buying a new camera however ended up completely putting off by a grumpy impatient sales called David who provided nothing but unproductive service in an rather obnoxious manner. I'm a customer who knows little about cameras & would like more detailed explanation about the products you talked about so that I know what I'm getting, however you appeared to be annoyed by that. If you were aware that all the stuff you said was just so vague and unhelpful to me. I wish I could speak to someone who were professional & knew what they talking about. I'm the local around the area and always love shopping @ supa centa, but this is the first time ever I received such obnoxious, arrogant service here. I hope you read my comment and reflect your attitude to your work because such customer service is not on and accepted anywhere by anyone.

Very disappointed with Sales person/Manager. wanted to buy the floor stock desk last week but ran out of time. back in the shop to purchase week after but they have changed their mind about the stock and wanted keep it on the floor ? ( Damaged Item) I think they were pushing us to buy the new one(30%more expensive) instead since we had genuine interest in particular model. Did not feel comfortable with their explanation why they have changed their mind. never back to this shop again. Stock is still in the display but they would not honour their offer

It was intense!

The worse customer service around. Firstly, when the website says an item is ‘in stock’ you expect to be able to go in and pick it up. Nooooo. It has to come from the warehouse. FFS. We have been purchasing items from Harvey Norman Gordon for the last couple of years. Their service has been quite good.

But our more recent experiences with them has been terrible. We were in for a replacement which was covered by product care. The store did not receive the replacement report from product care and instead of communicating with them directly, the staff asked us to contact product care. The whole issue was mishandled. We had to make numerous calls and talk to different staff to explain what was happening and when we got all that sorted we were informed that the replacement product was not Available in store.

The staff was very polite but that doesn’t change the fact that they have an inefficient stock management system And poor communication amongst staff members.

Despite this experience we went to Harvey Norman again to buy another appliance. We checked the availability of the product online beforehand. When we got to the store the staff could see that they had product in stock but could not locate it. We waited half an hour for them to figure it out and left empty handed. We then drove straight to David Jones and we made the purchase in less than 10 mins. I don’t think I will ever buy anything from Harvey Norman Gordon.

Decent size store, but I never understand how some people hold their job with a bad attitude.
Once a saleswomen there snapped at me because I went with a computer item to the white goods counter. Not sure how she figured for people who don't work there that this is general knowledge.
Another time a sales guy worked me on an item, and when I said I think about it and may come back tomorrow, he turned around and walked away.

That's when you appreciate a shop like Bunnings or IKEA where they don't have sales commission.

Worst experience with a large retail store! After paying for goods in full, with receipt; they made us wait over 6 months for the items, trying to get more money out of us. Eventually, we had to go in to the store and issue a letter of demand, they finally had no choice but to give us our goods. Hope you don't make the same mistake as us.

Carpet was to be laid beginning of May. After MANY calls ,mostly by us we got some action. Only took 3 months & laying of carpet 3 times to be finally satisfied. Staff are arrogant. Customer service is non existent. We will NEVER set foot in that store again.

We bought a fridge about 4 weeks ago. It said it came with a EFTPOS voucher of $70. When we got to the till the staff member said that it will be mailed to us. Two weeks later we went back and said nothing has been mailed. The same staff member told us to wait another 10 days. It has now been much longer than that and still no voucher. Very disappointing.

The People who work in the Bathroom section don't what they doing. Ordered a bathroom cupboard. Took a while to get it. Told to pickup at warehouse but it wasn't there! Got another call to pick up in Store. This time it was no longer in the store. No apologies! I took my money and will spend it somewhere else. No more Harvey Norman for me!

Horrible experience... salesman sold me stock they didn't have, missed the promised delivery date, could not process refund over phone, said I had to speak to the store owner.. Had to call the franchisee who was rude, condescending and insisted that I should spend 2-2.5 hours of my time to rectify their mistake! Promised to call me back, and didn't. Left him messages but no reply. Will just tell credit card company to dispute the transaction. Never again! Go with APPLIANCES ONLINE INSTEAD.

Bought a leather lounge about 7 mths ago, 1, 3 seater and 1, single chair, (recliners)$4700.00. At the time I asked the sales lady if the lounge could be split, because I thought we would have trouble getting it up the stairs. No, they don't come apart was the answer. Lounge and chair arrived, ($100 delivery fee) but we couldn't get the lounge up the stairs. So it was all sent back, $600 penalty for not taking the suite. Didn't hear anything from them for a few days, so I went and saw the manager. Now I'm told the lounge does come in a splittable model. They pay half the penalty, then deliver the chair again, and only just manage to get that up the stairs, wait another 4 mths for the new lounge, due, they say on the 31st of january 2017. Contacted them on 1/2/2017 because we haven't heard anything, only to be told the lounge has been sitting there since the 13th of january, no calls, no emails, I wonder how long it would have been before we would have been contacted. The icing on the cake was being gleefully told that the original lounge was snapped up as soon as it hit the floor, but we still got charged the re-stocking fee. So much for having difficulty getting rid of it. Disgusting service, i will never buy from them again, an absolute fiasco.

I have been a Harvey Norman customer for many years. I have always felt I have walked away with a great deal no matter what the purchase was. I have on every occasion felt the department staff have gone out of their way to make the deal happen. My latest purchase from bedding saw me deal with Brendan & his Manager Linda. brought a computer for my new job which had issues 2 days into owning it and only used it twice to install antivirus and office, eventually got to take it back, the first time was told that there was nothing wrong with it since i couldn't recreate the problem despite telling staff it does it on its own so i was sent away and I sat in the car, opened up the computer and the fault was there so took it back in to another person and they seen the fault and couldn't work out how its happening etc. Phone tech support told me it was a hardware issue and to take it back, before going to the store. They said leave it with them for half an hour and they'll call me once they'd factory reset the computer. I went in an hour and a half later on my own accord since there was no phone call only to feel humiliated by being made to wait again to talk to someone, so after 40 mins i called it quits on looking like an idiot wandering around the store waiting. I want a refund since i'm not happy at the quality or lack of professionalism displayed. A computer should last more than 2 bloody days! and so the law agrees.

Very disappointed with my whole experience. I bought a custom Macbook Pro at the start of March. I called the store today to get an update only to find out that the order doesn't exist... it never did!!!! Harvey Norman had no record of the transaction and they said there's nothing they could do for me(But they were great at taking my money). I can't believe Harvey Norman can function with such poor standards and then turn around to a customer and say, yeah sorry mate there's not much we can do. What a joke!

But Tahmi(one of the employees at Harvey Norman Bondi Junction) seemed to be the only one to come to the rescue and do something about it and apologise for the screw up. Harvey Norman Bondi Junction needs more of Tahmi!

The order for my Macbook Pro has been processed today, which is a whole 5 weeks after Harvey Norman took my money. All this only happened after I called them and wasted my time going to the store to resolve the issue.

And now I have to wait another 3-4 weeks for my Macbook Pro to arrive. All up that's 9 weeks of waiting. Waste of my time. Major inconvenience to my business that relies on the Macbook Pro. Nothing done to make it up to me.

Worst customer service ever! Went in to purchase a sat nav with my partner, asked a staff member who was in the sat nav section if he could open the locked cabinet so we could take a closer look and decide. The staff member in question looked at my partner as if he had asked him to do something unimaginable and without a word walked off! Stood there for 5 mins we looked over and saw this staff member talking to his friend and ignoring us! Worst customer service ever! What a shame, this iconic store that was once family operated has possibly the most dreadful franchisee in the IT department. THE IT department told me my computer , that they were to work on, was not working and that it was like that when i took it there and all my files were gone,! Baby photos business records the lot. I was distraught. ABSOLUTE lie, funny i took it straight to windsor computers and by some miricle it was working and i have had terrific help with Windsor computers.

I wouldn't trust IT at harvey norman McGraths hill with servicing a toaster, let alone a computer, the franchisee was creepy and rude and an imbecile in my opinion. After i demanded a refund because they said all my info had been lost, i went to Windsor computers who took 2 seconds to say that all my files were still there, obviously harvey norman were confussed at best. The creepy franchisee stalked me all over the store and followed me outside after i returned to requested and got a refund on the 3 year customer care and service . Some of the staff are really really helpful and go out of their way for you. Then you come home, look at your receipts and realise you shouldn't automatically trust them but check before leaving. I found I had spent $200 more than I needed or wanted to spend for something not necessary. I buy regularly at this store. Now I have to return AGAIN to query this transaction which I'll be doing asap. Am really disappointed.

I had a really positive experience here today. I was given enough time to think about whether I wanted to make the purchase or not and I was able to negotiate (within reason) the price. I did find that there were too many staff each wanting my service which I found a little intimidating but overall I felt like I walked away with the product I wanted at a price I could afford.

Just purchased a laptop last Friday and it has problems on the first day then I have called to ask for exchange, the staff said in 14 days they can help to exchange new one for sure.
When I came to the store he was helping me to check and that problem really happens here again! The staff also kept saying that's weird it shouldn't like this for the new laptop.
After he trying to do something then it works at the shop but I just told him how can I believe this is product doesn't have any problem? Because I just bought it at the first day it already has some problems? And I am going to oversea soon, so can you please just exchange a new one for me? He said most of new laptops has same problems in the beginning, but when I said my previous and another laptop never like this he replied to me "You can't compare with other laptops " ?!
In the end he told me his manager not here today and when he called to ask the manager said no exchange until the problem happens again tonight!!!
How can I bring it and the laptop case come back again and again ?
Anyway I don't know is this situation common or not but they shouldn't say they can exchange for sure when they see the problem.
Btw I paid $784 and it shows $150 discount at that time and today when I back to the shop it's $744?! And one staff told me that's original price?! How come?

I visited Harvey Norman recently, on this occasion to switch my phone to Optus. I honestly cannot believe the level of service I received! Rohit and Roy were amazing! And they even stayed back 10minutes beyond closing to allow me to pick up my phone.

Make sure you ask for a full demonstration of the product you're interested in buying because they will not exchange it if it does not do what you expected it to. I spent an hour deciding which microwave to purchase and was explained some functions by s very pushy sales person about the functions and was lead to believe that the one I purchased had the functionality I required and once I purchased the microwave I realised it did not have the functions once I read the manual. Now they state that once the box has been opened it cannot be resold as a new product because it had been opened. Now I don't know how to get to the manual without opening the box first.

Just happened to be going past and thought I'd drop in to look at bluetooth speakers as I needed to replace the one for work. Was very interested in a Phillips one and was just about to check out the sound quality by hooking it up when I was asked again if I needed help (this was the second time by this staff member, and the third time overall). I said no I'm fine and the guy (transvestite) insisted on standing there. I repeated I'm fine I don't need any help but he said 'well this is my area', 'and sarcastically remarked how he didn't know how I was going to check out the sound with no power. It already had power, one of the features I liked about it was it had an in-built battery. Anyway, after a further request to leave me alone he wouldn't so I said I'd just go and buy it somewhere else, which I have. I got further attitude from him/her as I left, and he was obviously talking about me with another staff member as I left. So well done Harvey Norman, what should have been a simple pleasant experience turned into an unpleasant one because of your poorly trained staff. It wasn't a big sale you lost, just $50, but you have lost a customer.

Tried to return a product that kept tripping my electricity, i tried the same product at neighbours house and had the same outcome. I returned the pruduct the next day and was served by franchisee owner Bruce Yu, after he plugged it into a power point and it didn't trip his circuit in the store he refused to replace or refund he rang the manufacturer and they said they will charge him to test the product so he said for me to contact the manufacturer and handle it myself, I wasn't happy his response was go contact fair trading. Product was only $150 no point in wasting anymore time and effort, bring on Amazon.

One of the sales assistants told me when I purchased my laptop that if anything happens under product care I will be immeadiatly refunded but rather I spent 2 hrs arguing with him and still could not receive my warranty claim.

WATCH for the fine prints that no one tells you about. My husband and I spent over $20,000 3 years ago at Liverpool Harvey Norman. When we bought our new lounge we were told we would get 5 years WARRANTY, little did we know the stitches of the lounge WAS only covered for 1 yr. At what point did ANYONE explain that to us. They take your money and no one wants to know about the fault.

On top of the grief, they sold us Guardsman package which is supposed to cover extra warranty on your lounge. BUYER BEWARE!!! DO NOT BUY the GUARDSMAN PACKAGE if they try to sell it to you. That's another company that doesn't want to know about your lounge if there is a fault. They were rude and you have to chase them continuously and when you do, they blame you for the fault and tell you to chase Harvey Norman.

People DO NOT purchase anything from Harvey Norman! If you have a faulty product no one wants to know about it. When I spoke to a gentleman Ahmed yesterday about my lounge he stated that the stitches were only covered for 1 yr, then I told him when Gabriel sold it to me I was told 5 yrs, no one stated 1 yr on stitches!!!!!

Avoid this store at all cost!! Untimely delivery, customer service is zero!! Paid full amount last week for a cooktop and oven at Liverpool store and I was promised that it will be delivered this week. Staff promised to call back this week to confirm delivery and installation which didn't happen. Recently bought a dishwasher at price we were happy with given it was floor stock, but now it is equivalent to buying a seconds product at an inflated price. The sales person said it would be packaged and ready for collection in a week as another product we bought was to be ordered in. My expectation was that the store would wrap the dishwasher properly for transport in cardboard. The thin layer of bubble wrap is not enough protection and to top it off the staff loaded it onto its side where there was no bubble wrap. Very poor response from the store when I emailed the store to tell them of the damage caused, just thanking me for bringing it to their attention...no offer of compensation or replacement. Not likely to shop there or recommend this store again. Very disappointed!!

Yesterday i went to harvey norman in mudgee to buy a new computer .
I must explain that i am an older model and dont have much knowledge in computer technic .
Hoping the staff there could help me out with some questions and explanations about performance of a specific computer i thought might be the right one for me , i must say no one could answer my simple question on what core it runs on . Then , they did not have the one i thought buying new in a box but only as a display .
Me asking for a discount on a display item got rejected . Why would i want to pay the full price for a "second hand " item. So i decided to buy online . For $130 dollars less then harvey's.
So much for buying and supporting local business.
Having spend thousands of dollars at this shop in the past few years before i was very disappointed .

Amazing store and A class staff! From the moment I drove into the large car park I realised they offered underground parking so I parked there and it was very convenient with an elevator entry straight into the store. Entering through furtniture it smelt great and was so clean and well laid out and there were plenty of friendly staff to greet me. Following through to the Electrical department and then onto Audio Visual I noticed a lot of attractive displays and new technology and when checking out the new OLED range in TVs I was pleased to have a very refreshing and informative experience with the sales representative who was prompt, knowledgable and not pushy which I appreciated, was also very personable and quite funny too. They have all the latest technology and it is displayed immaculately, the most amazing thing I noticed was the large home theatre rooms at the back of the store which were decked with sound proofing, beautiful lounges and red curtains. Today we were provided with such great customer service from the Warrawong staff member Sean. We were after a portable air conditioner and he didn't try and sell us the most expensive, he went through all the models, had great product knowledge and helped us make a decision on what suited us and our home size. We accidentally took home the model below ours and Sean was right onto it calling us straight away. I have bought a frontloader washing machine and dryer from this store and the staff in the white goods department were extremely helpful , They spent time explaining the differences between models I was there for over an hour so for them to take that time with me is much appreciated.

Worst customer service, all the electricals were priced higher than Auburn store. And the staff didn't do any price match.

Purchased carpets and hard wood flooring from these guys and locked in a date for installation. We arranged everything to move out of the rental place as everything was locked in and a week later we received a call from Harvey Norman saying they can't do it on that date.

We looked like jokers to the rental agents and burning money paying rent further and had to arrange another hard wood floor installer by looking up one ourselves.

Unprofessional and would not recommend.

Very disappointed with this store and the customer service provided. Worst experience ever, the staff does not want to help. When we buy a product the staff promises that you will receive the product within 5 business days and the product does not arrive for months. When the question was asked, they just say it is not their fault, customer service is so bad. They just lie and provide false promises

They say shop with confidence. Simple question, how can you shop with confidence when you have bad customer service and providing different goods to what was promised?

Absolutely horrid Store with incompetent staff in the technology section. Will never shop here again. Terrible customer service and bizarre and retarded policies regarding refunds. I returned a MacBook Pro, for the third time might I add, asking for a refund and it took over 2 weeks to process despite the staff constantly stating it would take two days maximum. They are manipulative and overcharge for almost all electronic products.

Like others, who have posted on this site, all they want to do is make A SALE and then wash all responsibility..

We have purchased many items, white goods, beds, sofas, electricals etc, etc, and purchased 2 sets of dining chairs and tables which have deteriorated terribly within 2 years.

Ben the manager, stated that WE must have misused the chairs and because the 12 month warranty had expired he could not help us further regarding replacement.

HOWEVER, he was more than happy to sell us NEW chairs at a cost!!

We will NEVER purchase anything from here again.

Was served without having to wait too long. The sales person was very helpful. Howevee I was a little disappointed that I was not asked if I needed help to set the iPad up. When I have previously bought iPads and Samsung Tablet before this help has always been offered. If the department was busy I would have understood but it was not busy. Had this been offered I would have given 5 stars.

I asked a staff member to explain the photo print units. They neglected to tell me the photos autocrop causing me to waste my money. They did not care and pointed at a sign and told me to run the photos again.
