Gee I really wanted to give these guys a 5 star rating, because there's so much to like. The location, ease of parking, THE VIEW! All of that. But the owners often appear like they're far too busy with the take-away side of the business (next door) to deal with people in the sit-down cafe section. And the vibe you often get in there is that you (as a customer) asking for something from them is just plain annoying. Which hardly engenders customer loyalty. I mean, is service with a smile really too much to ask?

Also, the food selection in the cafe is VERY limited. So if a bacon and egg roll, scones or fish and chips isn't what you're after...then you're plumb out of luck.

Now, having said that, the young gals they've got working as waitresses are always SUPER friendly and attentive, the coffee's good, and the food they do serve is yum. Hence the 3 star rating. Because there's so much to like with the Haven Beach Cafe, but at the same time you can't help thinking that if they could just be bothered to raise their game, this place could be 5-star all the way.

It works, a rustic place with the backdrop of the Pacific, coffee was really good, food is hit or miss. Sometimes terrible other times good enough. 4 stars for the location, the ambiance and the coffee.

Drink a few bottles and the food improves.

Got in the restaurant and asked for a coffee, but they told me to sit and wait. The place was half empty but 30 minutes in, many glances and waives later, no one came to get my order so I just left. The lady at the counter looked at me and didn't even say anything. Such a pity because it is a cute cafe with an amazing view and my husband loved to come here since he was a kid, hopefully next time they will consider me for an order...

Overpriced, staff are not friendly and don't even bring water to the table for you (they just ask you to get it yourself). Food isn't even that good - they just don't care. Go to the other cafe on the other side of the haven it's much better than this joint/joke

Awesome little place. I could stay here all day. Nice food and great view. Amazing all year round. The chip shop is right next door for quick fish and chips if you are hungry and can't wait. It is surrounded by great walks and lots to see. I love you Terrigal!

Young crew with a bossy boss, don't expect much from the service; food & coffee (try the soup bowl size mug!) always good. Locations a winner and the place is rarely full early on weekends.

Waitress was unfathomably rude, so we left. Never written a review before. That's how rude she was.

Serve fish and chips here. Very casual with a few outdoor tables. Seaside parking with access to sand and sea.

Slow, expensive, greasy.. no vegetarian options at all. Worst iced coffee I've ever had, tasted like milk.

Wouldn't even recommend it to the seagulls.

Went next door to buy a salad and it cost 23 dollars. Not worth it.
