Great spot, especially if there's live music.

Went here for lunch on a weekend with my wife last week. Have had their beef burger before and was pretty solid. They must have a new chef however as their new beef burger fell apart in my hands. Meat was dry and was on a crappy white bread bun.

Chips have changed to try and imitate maccas chips but they are no good. Used to be these massive thick cut beer battered fries. On top of that it was $25. For that it has better be the best burger ive ever tasted. What cafe can charge $25 for a burger??

Too many cafes these days trying to get super fancy with a shwanky menu and think they can charge the earth for little food.

Great food - cafe with class. Solid Allpress coffee. Licensed, allowing for a nice pale ale with my pork roll. Great vibe - a touch of The Grounds about the decor and tone.

I do love the food and surroundings of this cafe and have introduced friends and family to this lovely cafe over the past year.

However my last 2 visits were not good ones :
1) I brought a dear friend here for the first time, ready to show off the delicious food and the really conducive surroundings.
We found a table outside which is exactly what we wanted, perused the menu, got ourselves a jug of water and glasses and managed to finally get the attention of a waiter.
However we were then informed there was a wedding shortly so we wouldn't be able to order lunch; could only have a coffee and cake.
We left as we were wanting lunch but we were not impressed- a sign/notice out the front would have been appreciated letting us know of this so we hadn't needed to get ourselves so settled.

2) I arrived with my son and girlfriend at 10.50 a.m. ready for a delicious lunch. We decided on our lunch orders quickly although we were very confused with the times set on the menu.
We were unable to get the attention of any of the waiters scurrying past us.
We finally managed to call one over to our table but it was 11.05 by then and we were informed we could only order off the IN-BETWEEN menu as breakfast ended at 11.00 and the lunch menu didn't begin until 12??
What cafe and/or restaurant has an IN-BETWEEN menu? Ridiculous and so bad for business.
This IN-BETWEEN menu consisted of about 4-5 choices but only one of these was a real lunch menu.
We were hungry, wanted a substantial meal so had to get up and leave so we could find another local cafe for lunch.

All very disappointing as I had been so 'proud' to show off my local cafe at Hazelhurst.

It has left a sour taste in my mouth about what I originally thought was the best cafe in the Shire.

Management need to take a very close look at their scrupulously 'timed' menu, maybe offer all day breakfast as most cafes do and/or get rid of their 11-12 menu, which is almost laughable!

Such a shame as the food is delicious, the staff are lovely and the surroundings are gorgeous.

Went for brunch with my girlfriend and my mother, who was able to come out for the first time since her hip replacement, and arrived at 10:55.

We were confused by the menu stating breakfast to 11am and lunch from 12pm so tried to get the attention of a staff member in order to query this. When we finally got someone's attention, at 11:05, they told us we couldn't order from either menu and had very limited choices from an 'in between' menu.

Despite the fact my mother has trouble walking right now, we were forced to trek back to the car and go elsewhere to eat.

I find it rather unusual that they do this; a lot of people are out for brunch between 11 and 12 and by having a shockingly small selection of food available this business is essentially turning customers like myself away. I won't be back.

Salmon was overcooked not to mention the wraps were over heated/tough to eat. The hot chips we dry/not crispy and not hot/fresh from the kitchen as one would expect. For the price the meal was defiantly not worth it. I would be willing to give it another chance if some adjustments were made to the menu and prices , until then I will steer clear of this joint personally!
