Chantelle has been studying with H&H Training since early 2018:
“At first it was hard, but it got easier as I went on and the teacher was able to help with any problem I had. I have really enjoyed my time so far at H&H. The college is clean, the staff are very nice and the trainers are all so helpful and have such a vibrant welcoming feeling.
I have found the face to face experience to be very rewarding. I feel no question I ask is ever too silly and I always get an informat...ive answer back, I know when I come to the college I’m going to get the help and support I need to further my knowledge in this industry.”

“Offering care means being a companion, not a superior. It doesn’t matter whether the person we are caring for is experiencing cancer, the flu, dementia, or grief.
If you are a doctor or surgeon, your expertise and knowledge comes from a superior position. But when our role is to be providers of care, we should be there as equals.” ― Judy Cornish

When learning about how to care for the elderly, practise and empathy is incredibly important. Here our teacher is teaching students how to delicately clean a patient's face in a mock aged care facility!

Lorraine is a current student of HNH:
“ I have found this course to be very informative and very helpful. The staff and trainers are very nice and make you feel very welcome. This college is very diverse and has such a positive vibe and very close to the station, which makes it easy to get to. I have found the course materials very challenging but easy to work with. The facility is in great condition and very clean and comfortable. I have learnt a lot here as the trainer has a lot of knowledge and explains everything so well and informative.”

In our aged care course, we learn the importance of communication when we are delivering our services to the aged.
Students were asked to think about this while they were showering their residents remembering the residents dignity and respect.
Students also practiced their manual handling technique as this requires communication and support to our aged residents.

Everyone, meet Jane. Jane started doing her Certificate III in Aged Care late February this year.
“When I first entered I was given a very warm feeling, I felt at home. The staff were lovely and very helpful.
I have found my experience with the course so far very challenging but informative and practical. Chris, the trainer, has endless knowledge and explains each workbook clearly which has made the face to face experience very good.”

To celebrate NAIDOC week, one of our classes recently participated in a class about aboriginal art. They learnt about the significance of the rainbow snake in indigenous culture and were given resources to create their own dreamtime stories.

" As I started to work at St. Sergius Aged Care Facility, I didn’t have much knowledge in being a nurse assistant. It was challenging for me to complete the work I have been assigned. The facility recommended me to try out H&H Accredited Training College. Eventually I had the details and I was ready to join. It was a great opportunity for me, as the teacher was training people that worked at the St. Sergius Aged Care Facility, so they could learn and work at th...e same facility.
We complete workbooks that are consistent of questions and information regarding to caring for the elderly. Chris is my teacher. She shared knowledge, and educated others including me. If I am ever unsure about something or am having difficulties completing my work, I have always emailed Chris and she would help me out.She would always respond and provide us with solutions, for the difficulties we would have. She is polite, motivative and knowledgeable. Colleagues and I, are very thankful to have an opportunity like this, and have the ability to learn quicker as we gain more experience. "
