High Country Motel

Terrible. Dirty. restaurant not open. Hardly any service.under some renovation and put us in room next to one being renovated although only one other room occupied. After complaining moved us to renovated room which was dusty smeared mirrors and rubbish behind fridge. Grounds unkempt and full of rubbish. Would not recommend.

We booked a double and we were upgraded to a queen the reception staff were very helpful. for a older budget motel the bed was comfortable the rooms are small but comfy ...however I would have liked to know it is a pet friendly accommodation before I booked....

Excellent price, very clean rooms and bathroom no hairs on the floor , lovely country side, friendly staff I highly recommend for a peaceful sleep

Stayed there two years in a row. Beds and sheets are clean. There's hot water and electric blankets. Staff and owner are friendly, there is really not much more you can ask for at this price range. So overall really great.

Bed was really comfortable.
The rooms are old but clean and everything works.
About 1km hike to town with footpath all the way.
Very reasonably priced.

The man was lovely there. My room was nice with a nice view out of the back window. I pictured somewhere for the kids to run around on open grass play field but no where really for them to play but better than on a main road.
I was disappointed that it is not walking distance to the shops for myself and the kids but then again it was up to myself to check that out but was misleaded.
What I was not happy about was that the shower heads are right above you and there is no easy to have a shower without getting your hair wet. Also the room was never replenished in the 3 night's that I stayed with my 3 children, I had to call up and ask for toilet paper and clean towels, my mugs for coffee was never changed and room was never vacuumed while we where out and with the outside scattered with broken leaves it was all walked inside. 3 nights I arrived back about 7 pm and never saw any restaurant or entertainment opperating.
Found their web page very misleading.

The sheets and linen were clean, and the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms were OK, but buildings and facilities very run down. For some reason someone had "cleaned" all the glass areas (windows / dresser) with what looked like furniture polish. While I can see the current owners are working to turn it around, it's going to be a while...

The staff was great. I requested for a microwave in the room to heat up the milk for our bub who prefers warm milk in the middle of the night. The hotel provided.
The staff facilitated a 11:30PM checkin.
The room heating was switched on to make the room comfortable when we arrived.
We forgot our iPhone 6+ in the room when we checked out. Later in the day, we called up reception to the check the room, they found it and facilitated a smooth return, which we collected on our way back from snowy.
Bottom line, great place to stay, with awesome staff.

We had an amazing experience, we arrived late (11pm) so we rang ahead at 7pm and let the lady know we were arriving later in the evening, she said it wouldn't be any issue and even turned the heater on in our room and left the key in the door for us. The room was great for the price range and the view in the morning at 6am as the sun rose was delicious. Thank you so much High Country Motel for having us, we will be back again very soon.
