Love the food, good service, but WHY is there a flatscreen in there? Get rid of it.

Fast service, great hot choc, terrible breakfast. Bacon was so dry and cold, couldn't even cut it. I believe it was deep fried, if u can't cook crispy bacon on a grill you shouldn't be cooking. Snags were gross and also very dry and yuck. Toast cold and dry, no butter. Tomato and eggs was the only good thing on the plate.

Hippo is always busy. Reserve a table or you may miss out, particularly on a Saturday/Sunday!
Food is good, was a little cold by the time it got to our table but wasn’t necessarily a bad thing.

Love the atmosphere and location of this place. Heaps of tables which are always full so make a reservation if you have a large group. Plenty of parking out front and back. Front and back entrance. Food and drinks came quickly and were very good.

A lovely venue and lots of food variety, but it all sounds nicer than it tastes - just a little bland. Food and coffees were very fast to arrive.

This place is amazing. Have never had a bad experience here. The service is great and the food even better.

Yummy cheesecake and average coffee. Great place to sit and chat with a small or large group. Kids play area right up the back too.

This place has good coffee and food. Tyne services are good as well. But it can get really busy and the wait can get long.

We visited this place. They had advertised on the chalk board, tea/coffee and scones and the price, which was not cheap, but as it was "scones", so I thought it may be okay value. What was served was "one" scone. I took it to the counter and said I only received one scone, expecting at least another (as "scones" is plural). The chef got a knife and cut the scone in half and said "you have two now". I would have started turning over tables at that point, but I had small children with me. The one star rating is the minimum required to post a review, but "zero stars" is my accurate rating. Never go there unless you want to be ripped off and insulted. (This happened some time ago, not recently, but I don't forgive and forget.)
