History Of Wassink Transport Description

This page reflects on the Family Wassink's involvement in the transport industry which was started by Willem Wassink, WASSINK AMERSFOORT in the early nineteen hundreds. My father, Jan Wassink joined in 1931 and worked for his father until 1949 when he left the business to start WASSINK DEN HAAG. Wim Wassink, second oldest son, took over from his father in 1960 but died one year later in 1961 and the business was taken over by the bookkeeper, Jo Felten. His brothers worked in the family business as well. Gerrit started WASSINK ARNHEM and Kees, Niek and Joop went to Australia in the early fifties and became farmers. I, Willem Wassink joined my fathers business in 1959 and left for Australia in 1979 to start WASSINK TRANSPORT COOMA and retired in 2009 and live in Bega NSW now.
