Who is H? - My name is Hiten Thakrar, but I’ve always been known as ‘H’. Born and raised in England, I am of Indian decent. I first came to Australia as a tourist in 2001, traveling around this beautiful country for a year. One year turned into ten and I‘m now proudly an Australian Citizen.

I love what I do and am passionate about making customers look great and feel confident with their sartorial decisions. I take the time to get to know my customers who often drop into the shop for a chat. I’m also a [very] keen golfer, as you’ll probably notice from a visit to the store!

Zantini Menswear and H + Co - For over a decade of trading as Zantini Menswear, my customers continually referred to my store as “H’s shop”. So in 2013, bowing to public pressure, I rebranded the business and put my name on the door. The “ + Co” part of the new brand refers to my family, friends and customers – they are all intrinsic to my company in all meanings of the word.

A family tradition - My father, Rasiklal Thakrar was a legend in the menswear industry (UK). A self­made businessman, what he didn’t know about menswear or business wasn’t worth knowing.

Over four decades he created a portfolio of menswear brands (220 Stores) all over the UK, Ireland and Dubai, (Ciro Citterio, Dunn & Co, Oakland, Horne Bros and Sweater Shop).

I’ve been incredibly fortunate to have his mentorship – his passion and knowledge was instilled in me from a very young age and has heavily influenced my life and career.

Interestingly, my Indian caste name, ‘Lohana’ (or ‘Luvana’) is traditionally associated with the merchant class and is known for its business sense.
