Hunter Valley Resort

I thought the Hunter resort was a very nice place to stay we had a wedding to attend at another place in the hunter so did not get to enjoy as much of this place as would have liked. The cottage that we stayed in was nice it was private and quiet with a great country view . Bed was amazing and the spa was great for relaxation after the wedding.Enjoyed a lovely breakfast with very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend to my friends.

We visited the Hunter Valley Resort for horse riding and to have a drink. The horse riding was through the Adventure Centre. We had a great ride. Booking was easy - booked the same day. We did a one hour trail ride, walking the horses through a trail, around a field and along some vines. Was great for inexperienced riders. Saw lots of kangaroos in the field and near the vines. Would have been good to let the kids give their horses a pat to bond with them, but their setup doesn't cater for it. We also had a drink at the Matilda Brewhouse. A relaxed place to wind down.

Wine tasting bar is great. Good service, great selection. A big focus of Lisa M but generally a good selection of other ones too. Also a lovely view and reasonable food menu for lunch.

Reasonable but not 4 Star
Room was dated but good size. Lots of power points! Oh joy! Bathroom also tired and it all needs improvement if they want to claim 4 star. Restaurant reasonable though my lamb looked unappetizing and the salad was oily. Wife's pasta was very good. Reception also very good and early morning wine tour was excellent.

Nice room with views. Yes it is a bit dark and shower not great but that didn't spoil it for us. Nathan was friendly and informative on the wine tour and tasting. It's in a good location and is a beautiful spot for sitting in the sun with good food and drink. We will definitely be back!

Fantastic venue, beautiful area. Staff were wonderful and friendly. Would definitely come back.

Cozy and spacious room, but dark. Comfortable bed and clean sheets and towels. Shower should have a bigger shower box (bathroom gets all wet).
Resort provides horse riding, segway riding, electric bike, wine tasting; all these activities are payed. Electric bike is a great thing to do, you can hire for the whole day and roam around the vineyards, go to the Hunter Valley Resort, visit other wineries.
Wine tasting with David was lots of fun, even for people that has no knowledge about wines (just like to drink them), it's a quick, interesting and fun thing to do.
The restaurant has great food (lunch and dinner), but poor breakfast.
Overall it's a good place to stay a few days, to relax, eat and drink onsite!

Nice Cozy room Very nice and friendly staff. Beautiful Views. And very close proximity to all wineries

By the Fireside Dinner last night. A truly wonderful night. Thank you Lisa McGuigan for your stories and great wines. Also the sensational HVR team effort led by Phil Collis. Amazing food. Well done!
