WHAT IS HYPNOBIRTHING

Hypnobirthing helps you to release any fear and tension about birth that you may be holding on to. It gives you the tools that you need so that your body can give birth naturally and efficiently exactly how it was designed to. Hypnobirthing uses techniques which include: breathing, relaxation and visualisations along with positive affirmations. These techniques help to reduce stress levels, fatigue, anxiety and fear, increase oxygen in the blood, and as result, it helps to reduce pain. Hypnobirthing recognizes the intrinsic part that the birth partner plays and gives them a specific role that brings couples closer together and gives them the knowledge they need to be the the voice for the mother. It also prepares them for what they need to know to help bring their baby into the world.
HOW DOES HYPNOBIRTH COFFS HARBOUR'S COURSE WORK
You, the mother, are given information you need to understand how your body is working during labour and the choices that are available to you, so that you are equipped to inform your doctors & midwives of the type of birth you would like to have, which can often be more comfortable, drug free, calm and gentle as a result. Hypnobirthing teaches you techniques to facilitate your body’s production of the pain-relieving hormone 'endorphins', and also 'oxytocin' which has been described as the hormone of calm and which stimulates the muscles of the uterus to work in labour. The result of this is that labour is more efficient, shorter and more comfortable in very many cases.
