Good value, great views over water, nice common areas.several flights of stairs required to access dining area from upper rooms. Good room size.

It's a resort in a beautiful setting. Standard accommodation. Pleasant staff.

To concur with what others have said, although it's not 5 star by any means, the IBIS hotel retains its budget value. It is a great retreat for families staying over the weekend in Nelson Bay. Spectacular views from the balcony will take away any misgivings about the outer appearance of the hotel.

Be careful‼ When they say it's a ocean-view room, all you see is trees, nothing else. And they charge more on these rooms.
Don't trust those room photos.

Have spent a lot of time here over the past few years through work. A little dated and not 5 star by any means but has good food, great views and reasonable prices in an excellent location. Most staff are pleasant and great to talk to. Some rooms are better than others as far as comfortable beds and air conditioners go. Parking can be a problem when functions are on. Overall was a pleasure to stay at and would recommend to anyone looking for cheaper accommodation in an awesome location.

Lovely setting right on the water at Soldiers Point, with gorgeous gardens & surrounds. A stay here is somewhat let down by the dated rooms & facilities. Refurbishment is taking place (slowly). Standard 3 star experience all round, but great location at a reasonable price.

We stayed here for three nights as part of a Groupon deal. We received three nights in an Ocean View room, breakfast each morning and wine on arrival.

Adele who checked us in - is a complete star her knowledge of the area and her friendly approachable attitude made our stay! Nothing was too difficult she made suggestions on what to do during each day!!!

The view was another highlight. The balconies are not private. They are shared with the room next door to yours separated with a metal fence. There is no privacy screen between that balcony or any of the ones on the same level. We played an awkward game of cat and mouse with the couple next door trying not to get in each other’s space.

The rooms need a little love. Our shower was leaking water towards the roof at high velocity. There were no power points near the bed for charging phones etc they were all located on the opposite side of the room which was inconvenient.

Breakfast was of a good standard and barista style coffee was included which was great to see. The restaurant again needs some attention and the food was of pub standards.

We enjoyed our stay, it was great value for money. In a great location - close to shops and attractions. We would stay again.

We stayed 5 nights. Very disappointed with our room very outdated and badly in need of repair. Hair dryer bracket not attached properly. Exhaust fan not working. Found dead cockroach one morning. Found the lighting quite dim. Ceiling fan not very secure and n oisy only air through room was to open front door and sliding door.Cupboard doors were not aligned to shut properly. Found the staff friendly and the restaurant food quite good. Wouldnt recommend it going by our rooms state.
