Reviews
Love this store - freshest produce and a great range, all at good prices.
Good service and prices
Fantastic prices and service
Nice staff. Great prices on chicken and meat.
Great local store. Good variety.
Great staff and great local supporter
Friendly staff, good specials, a nice cafe and a Video Ezy - movie rental kiosk. Great little shopping center.
Cant keep shelves stocked. You tell the staff your not happy with not having a deli and b they're like "we dont get it either" who ever is making decisions needs av wake up call. Get rid of the cafe and popcorn machine and bring back the deli
Very fresh fruit and vege bulk meat great prices helpful staff
I travel a fair distance every week to IGA in Haberfield. Been doing it for years. Wouldn't shop anywhere else.
Weekly specials are decent and fresh fruit is fresh
Very busy but great selection of foods and deli goods. Wait time can be very very long if you're not lucky.
Great deli, fresh produce and good service
Great selection of Product probably one of the best selection of Italian Deli products ever. Friendly staff just awesome to visit.
Always very busy but this place has a a well stocked deli and the italian goods on offer are high quality
Coolest IGA ever. Big Italian selection. And an awesome meat tray for $5
Worth a visit
Stock up on your truffle salami and burrata buffalo milk cheese plus lots more! Love the triple smoked ham. Awesome.
Best deli in Sydney considering the prices. Be prepared to wait in the queue for small goods.
Great place that supplies italian grocery items and importsfrom italy popular brands
Amazing range of authentic Italian cheeses and smsllgoods.
Great prices.
No price tags which makes selection difficult.
My place to go in Sydney for parmesan.
Great selection, a lot of whole foods and Asian ingredients. Staff helpful and pretty good opening hours.
This is our back up supermarket so always good for last minute things but not ideal for every day shopping as it can be pricey!
Mad expensive, but improving coffee and food service. I feel sorry for local residents in this captive market.
Good organic products, but be prepared to pay more as they don't sell many equivilant homebrand items.
Lovely selection for a cnr store.. specials were good prices... but standard prices were expensive as expected though. Friendly staff. Thanks
Great range of organic and interesting imported and gourmet goodies. Only sells free range and organic eggs and cheaper than Harris Farm. Also lovely family owners.
Store is messy, poor selection, overpriced and charge 40 cents for purchases under $10....
fantastic range of grocery items makes ip for a tiny fruit & veg section (especially given that there are three great fruit & vegie shops nearby). i always something delicious on a shelve to try out in a new dish, and the staff are really friendly. the prices are perfectly reasonable, and they even give a 5% discount for purchases over $100! highly recommended!!
It's tight but they carry a surprising range. Watch out for expiration dates though. I caught some canned products past their due date more than once.
It's a useful place to have a little supermarket; just sitting in a busy place where lots of people live. They won't have absolutely everything but they will have the things you need the most while also stocking some local produce.
Store manager/owner very rude and arrogant! Will make sure my family and friends never shop there again! ):
Good shop and friendly staff
Awesome shop, very nice and well trained staff
Easy access. Great staff . Excellent deli.
Now called Romeo's IGA and had a big revamp and a wider range of items - had a very good 1st visit plus friendly and helpful staff
May I just say thank you to the Manager of IGA North Sydney.
I am unwell with Pneumonia and needed to place my first home delivery - unfortunately, some of my order was of very poor quality and not what I had ordered.
I spoke with Michael the Manager who personally.y delivered the goods to my home. I know I was close to the shop but Michael certainly knows customer service and how to treat those customers incapacitated.
When one is older it is not always easy and so embarrassing to seek help.
Patricia McIntosh-Maher
I had an issue that was quickly attended to but took a while to actually be resolved: due to not receiving a receipt, I couldn't prove that I didn't receive my Apples which caused great inconvenience as I had a function to bake for the next day.
Luckily with cooperation of management, I received my compensation. Staff are quite friendly here if you have a specific enquiry. They have the cheapest kombucha glass bottle in the plaza with decent variety - my favourite item to shop for here.
Checkout service are superb. They make my day each time. The range is limited yet I always seem to walk out happily with a short list filled.
Not the cheapest place for grocery items. However ideally located near North Sydney train station entrance, and liquor is available. Competent staff, large range of grocery items available.
Pretty solid supermarket. Offers better brands for most pantry staples than the nearby Coles.
Conveniently located with a surprisingly big range
Typical, Saturday morning, most staff are school kids, but they can only open 1 register, when there are 12 people waiting in line, oh the 12 year old calls more staff to open another register, meanwhile the line has doubled and i am behind the smokers checkout, only 1 person can operate this one a kid maybe 16, i thought that was illegal. Anyway the line ts smaller and the 12 year old decides its time for her break, so she calls another kid to come operate the checkout, meanwhile there are 10 people behind me and maybe 15 in the other checkout. There are 4 checkouts that are never all opened regardless of how many customers. The oweners of this store need to seriously look at the customers and say, maybe we should keeep all registers open on a Saturday morning. After all we only employ school kids and pay the peanuts. wake up IGA this is the worst store ever, even Aldi has better service.
I hate this place. Everything here is overpriced and there is no variety. The parking availability is minimal and the parks that are available extremely narrow. There's nowhere else to go in the Stockton and Fern Bay area's so it's very frustrating.
A good shop for your everyday needs
Worse than a horror movie. Rude staff. Managers whispering conspiratorily about customers. Slow service. I feel sorry for the kids who work there. They try.
Good selection of items, a little pricey , staff not very friendly..
Not the greatest most expansive super market with the best options in town but it's all we pretty much have in Stockton. Friendly helpful staff. Just don't expect too much variety. More health food and fresh food options wouldnt go astray. I do LOVE the rice pudding at the Deli. And the snack size option at the Deli is ideal for lunches on the go and kids lunch boxes.
Small but convenient store boasting the cheapest bags of ice in the area, which was just what we needed, only to find that they were all out of ice for the two days we stayed at Stockton Beach tourist park.
Good range of products for a small local grocery store
Very Friendly & Helpful Staff :)
I found tomatoes sauce that was out of date by 3 years so i told them it was still there the next week i went its probably still there now ?
i once met a 20 something year old worker from IGA that was working full time and getting less then a unemployed person and when they had to start paying them more they let him/her go ?
The cheek outs where out of order for years because they did not want to pay to fix them and they only fixed them to sell IGA to someone else ?
The older staff need to move on to something else because all i see them do is bully the new guys so they don't loss their hrs / jobs and that needs to stop
i have a lot more stories but i give up ill just go somewhere else from now on :(
Local at work with good prices and wide variety if stock
Neat little supermarket with all of the essentials plus more. Also has a bottle shop. Winning.
They are all ways happy
Limited range but friendly and they've got Ben and Jerry's :)
Convenient at times, friendly, nice staff...only issue would be much better if there was more stock available or different items they already stick...
Expensive. Double the price at coles. But convenient and staff are very lovely.
Great, friendly and helpful staff who are very attentive and serve you very quickly. Shop has just about everything that you need!
Love my local IGA. Good fruit & veg section.
Great store. Great staff. Even better now since the renovation.
Close by to my home. Upgrade of store has more variety
IGA Batehaven has done some renovations and has expanded shop size and product range. Has some interesting additions.
Friendly and easy to use
Staff are lovely and very helpful. Always smiling
Good variety. Some stock a bit adventurous with pricing
Recently renovated and now with a better selection of groceries also some takeaway.
To expensive nice staff
Small supermarket, not a great variety
Great staff & good supply of all products.
Good little shopping hub in suburban batehaven. The wine shop has an amazing selection.
Nice and close to the beach. Great to have access to groceries within walking distance of the Surf Beach carpark.
Says here open til 8pm, walk down and door closed at 7:10. Thanks
Lovely staff, however the choice of products leaves a lot the the imagination. I find they stock essential items well, unless it's baby related.
Great local shopping
Friendly staff. Sometimes they have good specials on ice cream and soft drink.
Very very overpriced. Tickets always over other tickets just to trick you
Friendly service but expensive
Always good and fresh especially there cold meats.
Nearby and very handy has everything in one shop.
Not enough vegan options like so many other iga stores. Makes me sad. Fruit n veg is expensive too. Rather go to coles.
Good shop
The staff here are fairly nice, the only difference between this IGA and the one a few hundred metres north are the staff and the lack of the kebab offerings. Similar prices, slightly different products, pretty simple and nothing too different if you ask me.
Did not open in the advertised time. 15 minute wait and still did not open in time.
Bought product and it had a caterpillar in the good
Nice staff, but some items are nearly doubled what they are in the bigger supermarkets.
The staff are friendly service is quick and its always well stocked. Not many organic or free range options
A little pricey, but friendly and convenient
Small town grocery. It is a small store but they seem to carry everything.
Good local supermarket
Got everything you need. Surprising range of products.
Well stocked IGA, atm inside
I was not able to find what I was looking for, out of stock. Moreover, it looks like a ghost house. Never going again.
Good variety ☺ 👍
Always lots to see specials etc. Always find what i want.
Great selection of food and groceries at a reasonable price.
This store was dirty, not presented well, and honestly not very welcoming at all. It was like a ghost town, nobody was there and I can see why. Walking through the store it felt like the manager just didn't care about the store and showed no pride in it at all. Not a very nice place to do my shopping.
Great location not a huge range of products tho.
Great people but fresh food is so not fresh
Good for local shopping. but I found it a bit costly.
Good for a quick shop
Convenient local shop for northmwad residence. It has everything u need for day-to-day household chores.
A smaller, older-looking supermarket with somehow higher prices on certain stocked items. Services the local area well with its variety and IGA quality too.
Always check your reciept. I find shelf pricing is always different to what you get charged. Good for grabbing last minute item that you need as they have decent range, but over priced. Rather go to aldi or woollies or coles for the big grocery shop.
Great local grocer
They sell a lot of off food and a lot of products are overpriced. Would not recommend going here unless you have no other choice. The only positive thing I can say about this place is that the employees are very friendly and do their jobs well.
The staff are wonderful, dobt have to line up to gey service, but i found the meat section iffy, our dogs got done well though
Good place.
Good friendly staff
Normally quick checkout.
Sometimes good specials.
Good to buy a few things, not too good for a big shop sometimes bit expensive
Friendly, helpful & great staff.
Checkout is normally easy & quick checkout time.
Most items on discount.
Most items are price matched.
Good place to get a few things.
Filthy dirty. This would have to be the most scummiest low-life IGAs in Australia. The staff are painfully slow so don't expect a quick shop even if it's just for one item. They give a bad name to the good IGAs out there.
Kingswood Park is a housing commission ghetto slum and this store is exactly what you would expect from a houso ghetto slum.
Edit: they don't check their reviews or they don't care because they haven't tried to improve it.
Convenient location, easy parking. Internal layout is a little odd but isles are usually clear of boxes. Common daily items generally all at one end which I really like.
Not the best but it's certainly convenient.
Its very ecpencise compared to coles
Excellent location great variety of food and peaceful place to shop at throughout the day
So handy. They have what I need instead of going into the bigger stores.
Might need a bit of tidying but I came early so they might be re-stocking shelves or under staffed; friendly and helpful cashier
Neat medium supermarket, awesome sales but has some much more interesting produce. Has a deli & a one of a kind kebab shawarma its a must try. they also store organic & wholesome products you don't always get in other places like youfoodz. as i said this is a medium supermarket, there is a train station within walking distance. its a place to call home for locals
Great service, fantastic shawarma and decent prices! Looking forward to going next time
Awesome staff, always open, very friendly, excellent opening and closing times.
Getting better but still not the best, go here for convenience, but too many times I have seen items out of date on thr shelves, including mouldy scones!
Kind and helpful staff who were receptive and welcoming. They have a variety of specials, this one in particular had some very interesting and excellent discounts.
Good shop. Good service. Abit expensive.
Its getting better bug still needs the prices too come down
Day to day essential items are sold and make it easy for the residents around Lalor park to buy there stuff from here. Good parking space available.
Its not bad for a quick shop
Good only if you're desperate to get something on the run. Bloke who mans the checkout stinks of stale ciggy smoke.
The staff are very helpful. And the store is spacious.
Small variety, often out of stock. Extremely lovely and attentive staff though.
Staff are friendly and there's always good variety and stuff on special but you'll have to survive the carpark to get there.
Friendly local staff.
Have been through some very nice upgrades over the years. Quite convenient now.
Quality products and some unique ones.
I've noticed produce like eggs and chicken is not the best here; (gone bad?) Not sure I'd shop here unless I needed something bottled, or that which doesn't need basic inventory skills.
Super handy. Good specials. I bought flowers which never opened. They refunded. Nice work!
Some of the staff are nice and the rest just rude
Polite and friendly staff, good variety of goods reasonably priced.
Great place to shop good variety of products
Ppl r lovely but prices r a touch too high but being only place locally I understand. All good n definitely shall keep going there
Cars crowded in making it difficult to get into cars. First visit salesman was helpful. 2nd visit to buy the car and different saleman was not helpful and no log book available so did not buy the car.
A big IGA. We come here for all our favourite product lines that Woolie's and Coles have decided to discontinue. Enjoy the country drive and drop into the Hubertus Club on the way home!
Excellent selection of foods in continental foods excellent service in out very quickly
Good grocery shopping and fantastic continental smallgoods section.
Great supermarket. Very nice staff.
Small shop but very nice staff
It's in the Highway and having Parking. Also there is a Rest room and Petrol station.
Handy shop with some good specials.
Great staff, has everything at good prices
Good for little essentials and house hold items.
They have a ridiculous $5 minimum for cards and are willing to let you wait in line to find out... otherwise it's a reliable store.
Rather convient! Appears like a mechanic with petrol pumps but is an IGA! BUY THINGS!
Not bad for a small town. Vegies were very limited and it was hard to find common ingredients
Nice country town in Sydney, IGA had the largest variety of Bottled Juices that I've seen a store have..
Great staff our local shop 😎👍
Expensive
Fresh produce more like rotten produce would like to support you but just thru produce in the bin
Great staff but selection and fresh produce could be better
Always been a great store
Great staff and a wide selection of foods which are reasonable priced
Exceptionally good fresh produce . It is the main reason I go there and very friendly staff during the week .
Nice and big for an iga but overpriced compared to competitors supermarkets. Didn't have anything I was looking for
Good selection and price, though they do need to hire more checkout staff on weekends.
The staff here are super friendly the store is well laid out and easily accessible
Why is it so expensive? This IGA is easily the most expensive supermarket in the area. We try to avoid this IGA store because nothing is ever on sale - but even if there is a sale it's not enough to bring the price down to the Woolies/Coles price. We find this particularly interesting because this IGA is in a 'poorer' area, but the customers are having to fork out more money. There is a perception Woolies is expensive and IGA is better priced - but one browse in this store and that myth is debunked forever!
Quick shopping but personally not my favourite place to shop. Handy for quick shopping though.
Staff are friendly and helpful
Price was different from shelf . when asked for help I and was told if it'd not in the fridge we don't have any. No help was given to find the product
Excellent variety of goods
Good specials, great deli, feels a litte dirty.
Staff don't seem to happy working there
The customer service is outstanding.....
The Deli is awesome & close to home.....
I love all IGA stores Kearns is very unique for its diversity in special meat selections. .all varieties of cheeses n fancy hot chillies ..caters for the wider communities of all nations
Do yourself a favour. Get some fresh sliced deli meat. I recommend the nono salami
Best IGA, Reasonably priced, best deli and lovely staff
They order in ruby & roys sugarfree yogurt for me each fortnight. Makes me happy
Has the cold meat for sandwiches we like
2 stars for staff & aircon but 0 BECAUSE RESTOCK UR CHIPS & LOLLIES OR AT LEAST CONDITION THEM OR SOMETHING? Like every single snack I buy from there is stale and it's gotten worse. Like come on.
This store is wonderful, friendly, has lots of options, and most importantly, you can always count on loveliness and smiles from the helpful staff. Hanson is the BEST. He is so funny and warm, he's just amazing! If you just need a warm laugh, drop in on this IGA and chat with Hanson. This is my favorite place to shop - it's local and family owned too - support your local businesses, people! 5 stars all around for this IGA.
Good for midweek shops but is very small with some limited variety. Impressed with fresh food quality.
Great staff and store- good range of everything and top deli with lovely staff.
Hanson, Irene and staff always helpful and do a fantastic job looking after the locals with their shopping needs.
Always a pleasure to shop st IGA St Andrews
Good shop, a bit expensive on some things, great staff
Friendly service very very helpful one of the best and good price to shop for Family
EDIT 26/12/17:
This store has marginally improved over the last few months.
It's much cleaner and seems to have a wider selection of meat & goods available. Some of the staff are still very apathetic and could at least pretend they want to serve people.
ORIGINAL POST:
Dirty, disgusting and unclean store. Expensive for what they have. Always check the use by dates as many items are well and truly out of date. Woolworth and Coles are much cheaper and have much better quality items. You can get much better produce from other nearby shops.
Nice helpful staff and owner.. great savings and now with 7am open till 9pm, its awesome.
A handy pick up grocery store. Not a big variety of fresh fruit and vegetables and somewhat limited in some grocery lines. They take cards and cash and is wheelchair accessible.
Good for Quick shopping

Small supermarket with limited stock but good range.
Cheap very nice service
Dirty and unclean store. Imported selection of products and saturates over the local products. Mostly Asian food products.
Smallish shop. Nice employees. Has what you need but not much more. Liquorland has a good selection.
Pleasant, helpful staff. Fruit, vegetables and meat fresh.
Good staff , always a good experience
Great place but needs more men shops .
Good selection of meats and fresh vegetables.
A surprising diversity of products for a country IGA.
Great product range. Always friendly
Good little IGA store, just like most of the others, BUT, the bottle shop has the best range I have ever seen in a small shop this size.
