Our Vision: Inclusion and Beyond is a specialist consultancy practice providing thought leadership and advisory support to the sector. We understand and value people's differences; not only people with disability we support, but everyone who surrounds them: family, friends, the organisation and staff, and external providers. We believe inclusion starts in the home. The Problem – Case for ChangeOur sector insight and research tell us there are significant barriers to implementing the traditional and long-standing principles of how to provide just the right amount of support to people with disability, who reside in supported accommodation services. Even though significant resources have been utilised for training staff in these principles, many people with disability remain disengaged in fundamental aspects of their lives. The HowTo address these barriers, we have developed and created a unique approach where we provide mentoring and coaching directly to support workers at the accommodation site. We refer to this as 'Side by Side support'. We value the knowledge and history family members can bring to the table and we facilitate family consultation sessions where that information can be shared.
