Dr. Katie de Luca is a registered chiropractor and qualified exercise physiologist. In 2016 she was awarded her PhD from the University of Newcastle, Faculty on Medicine and Public Health. Her thesis explored the experience of pain in older women with arthritis, and was the first report of different subgroups of women who had significantly different emotional and physical aspects of pain. She has an extensive research background, having more than 20 peer-reviewed publications and has presented at more than 40 regional, national and international conferences. Her scope of audience is broad, having attending conferences in public health, gerontology, pain medicine and chiropractic. She recently presented a keynote presentation on back pain in the elderly, highlighting her expertise in this area.

Dr. de Luca works in private practice in the beautiful town on South West Rocks on the Mid North Coast of NSW. She is an advocate for evidence based care, and is committed to providing people of all ages with ethical and knowledgeable health care. Dr. de Luca is passionate about sport, and is the research chair for Sports Chiropractic Australia. She has worked at state level indoor netball, soccer and cricket teams, at the 2009 world masters games, and with Surf Lifesaving Australia.
