We believe that: legal costs must be fair and reasonable, taking into account the value of the deal. We understand that the client need pragmatic solutions not a 100 page thesis. What you will not be paying for: irrelevant repetition of legal principles, complicated advice filled with legalise that is not pragmatic or commercial, fancy breakfast seminars, an extravagant office overlooking the opera house, senior associates' lunches and training our junior solicitors. This is why we can charge $380 for standard matters and not $600 per hour. If our lawyers were sitting in one of those fancy law firms, you would be paying $600 to consult them. Cheaper hourly rate does not equate to less experience. Client still gets ex-top tier expertise. What we will not tell you: we will not tell you to never take any risks. We understand that the reality of business is that risks need to be taken. What we will tell you is what the risks are so that you can build it into your pricing or costing, and how best to mitigate your exposure to risks while still being commercially relevant. We will also give you certainty in pricing at highly competitive prices. If a client chooses a fixed fee and we under quote, it is our problem not the clients. The reason for competitive rates is we invest in expertise and people and not in fancy offices and expensive gimmicks which clients end up paying ultimately. We value certainty in our business and recognise its significance in your business.
