The obsession with preventing children from having sex-positive education tells much about the social hang-ups of our society. It speaks of the damaging impact which that very same shame-based sex education had on many of our elders. That shame, stigma and misinformation gets passed down through generations. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Funny thing i...s: there is endless research demonstrating that the goals of abstinence (shame)based education- being the prevention of STIs, early pregnancy, violence and other harms- are more effectively achieved with sex-positive and pleasure-focused education (among many other benefits!).
