Friendly and inclusive environment, and a powerful martial art. Since I started training here, my fitness has improved, I've made new friends and I feel safer on the train home. The classes are fun and focused, and it's inspiring to see so many women in the higher ranks and teaching roles. Highly recommended.

Truly one of the most genuine martial arts communities you will find in Australia. In my early days of training, the instructors and students went out of their way to make me feel welcome - I immediately felt part of the community. I joined with the intention of learning self-defence, but two years on has seen my time here at the academy develop into something very much deeper. It is somewhere I can go to learn martial arts in a methodical fashion, somewhere I can improve & maintain my fitness, and a place where I have made genuine, lasting friendships with a diverse group of people. Learning Wing Chun in the specific way it is taught at the academy has given me a structure and level of discipline that had been somewhat lacking in my life prior to picking up a regular training schedule here. Coming from a fitness background where I have experienced training at gyms, dance schools, personal training and other sporting environments, the atmosphere at International Wing Chun Academy has surpassed them all.

Was visiting Sydney from the US on business and so happy that I found the International Wing Chun Academy. Sr. Instructor, Stephen was welcoming and helpful as well as being nice enough to allow me to attend a class. Instructors and Asst. Instructors were polite, attentive and helped me to grasp the theoretical and practical nature of the what was being taught. The final 20 minutes of class are not for the faint hearted !

An excellent place to learn authentic Wing Chun martial arts. The staff and students are all very friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience very enjoyable and warmly.

Best school in Sydney to learn Wing Chun, some of the most knowledgeable instructors you will ever meet. Great environment with reasonably priced training plans.

I think training here has been one of the best things I have done for my overall health while learning martial arts and how to defend myself at the same time with the effective lessons taught within Wing Chun.

The legacy of Sifu Jim Fung lives on and his system for self defense and good fitness.

I cannot give more than one star. Name is missleading: have just a few branches in Sydney. Instructors are somehow knowledgeable ... after grade 3 ... hard to obtain much info, hence many students move to better schools. Indeed there is family atmosphere: they watch your FB postings closely and they make sure you don't train in private at other schools.

BTW: this represents my personal experience with them and may not be your experience. Trained ~2 years (almost every day) at this school. The only good part is that I met my Sifu there!

Great atmosphere, the staff makes you feel part of the "family" real quick. Multiple classes per day in the CBD branch, including weekends with various levels of intensity/technicality. Decent pricing compared to other martial arts classes, and many flexible membership options (pay per class, monthly, ...).

User

I've been training here for over a year now. Very practical martial art. Great instructors, great teaching and instruction. Great Environment, very welcoming and encouraging. Highly recommended for anyone looking to get fit and to learn something useful

I am so grateful to the International Wing Chun Academy and to my male friend who suggested that I try out Wing Chun. I told him about all of the times men harassed me on the street and on transport, and how so many of our female friends sadly have similar stories. He told me how Wing Chun didn't rely on brute strength and that it was designed by a woman.

I was blown away when I trialled the women's class in 2015, the incredibly skilled and patient instructors and students proved to me that you don't need a whole lot of strength to defend yourself and that you definitely can't judge a person by their looks!

There is a great sense of community and support here at the academy, everyone is determined to help you and will always come up with creative ways to explain techniques. I have never regretted coming in; it is always fun and exciting.

The pricing is very fair and affordable, I started off as once a week but highly recommend the unlimited class as you'll improve and get fit faster. You'll be amazed how quickly you pick up techniques and gain more confidence in yourself. The techniques become second nature and you gain more awareness about yourself and others. I have fortunately only needed to defend my friend and myself once.

Don't be shy and check out the academy, I certainly was and only regret I didn't try this place sooner!

Last Wednesday, more than 60 students gathered at Sydney HQ for Chief Instructor Tony's highly informative seminar on Wing Chun basics. Some great tips were shared, such as how to use 'tai gong' to unite the upper and lower body, as well as how to move from the centre of mass. Thanks CI Tony!
