Thank you to all of our customers from the staff at Its time for Thai. Without you, our restaurant wouldn't be where it is now. We thank all of our customers who were patient with us tonight as it was very busy. Love from Its Time For Thai.

I used the eat now app to order food and the first time I ordered at its time for Thai the food was great. So because of this is then decided to go back and on the second order i had to order enough food to meet the $30 minimum order fee which meant I ordered food I actually didn't want. After ordering I then received a call from the restaurant informing me that I lived in an area that incurred a $5 delivery fee, I was shocked to get this call as on my previous order I didn't get this kind of charge, and I literally live 6km from the restaurant. I then asked to speak to the manager fully expecting the manager to wave the fee and say that next time the fee will be charged but instead when I spoke to the manager who said his name was Lei however I doubt this told me that it was an error with the website and that the fee would be charged. The manager was extremely unhelpful and rude, he literally laughed at me on the phone, talked over me and when I asked for a refund he told me to call eat now and get the refund off them even though I had paid via credit card. I completely accept that the fee is there however if you as a business neglect to update your details on apps like eat now then it's disgraceful customer service then to make that mistake your customers issue. After getting laughed at by the manager I called eat now who called the restaurant back and at that point the manager offered to waive the delivery fee, I refused that option and wanted my full refund. Any business that treats their customers in such a disgraceful way will never get my hard earned cash.

Great food, reasonable price.

However, sometimes you have to wait for too long when there are lots of customers. The service could be improved as well.

User

Excellent authentic flavours, great prices and generous servings. Can tell this is the real deal when it comes to Thai food, the satay sauce for their satay chicken is spot on and not many thai restaurants get it right, but these guys do!! Recommend sharing a plate!

User

nice food but a little poor service ,maybe too many customers! Always line up for a long time. The fried chicken is amazing and also the prawns salad. The dishes are all of thai character! Worth to have a try!

We were seated in a dirty area. There was a soft drink or water spill on the floor. When we asked the waitress to move us she did so but with reluctance. Really it's not much to ask to be seated in a clean area to dine.

Anyways after that ordeal was over their menus are tattered and difficult to follow. Even worse it takes forever for somebody to come and take your order (but to be fair they had a full house). We ordered the Thai green curry and a prawn dish (pictured). The prawn were nice I enjoyed them but they lacked authenticity. This is being critical - the prawns were nice I enjoyed them. The Thai green curry on the other hand was horrendous! If I wanted Indian curry I'd have gone to an Indian restaurant. Extremely spicy and pretty much identical to Indian curry.

All I commend this place on are the portions - they were quite large. The food was definitely filling but it's a hit or miss with this place. 50% of the food was good the other half was hardly edible. Yet you pay the full amount. Ideal dining experience? Definitely not but I will give credit to the prawn dish pictured. Try your luck you may or may not be disappointed. Honestly a mediocre experience, hope yours isn't.

Half decent food deserves a half decent rating 2.5\5.

The best place for Thai food. The crispy fried chicken is to die for. The quality and quantity is well above the price you pay for it. The staff are helpful and also quick to serve

User

We were keen to try this place out as it has a lot of good reviews, slightly disappointed by the food as it generally was too sweet. We ordered 3 dishes, all of them were way too heavy on the sugar and ended up not finishing. All in all decent Thai food but not living up to the hype.

User

Fast service, super tasty, very affordable. Try their roti! Not just for locals, worth a visit. It can get very busy from 6-8pm so be prepared to wait in rush hour.

User

My partner and i are locals and thought we would try this restaurant out on friday night, the service wasn't the best but we could look past this, the meals came out quite fast and the food was okay. However following on from our visit i experienced the worst food poisoning i have ever had. I only had a vegetarian meal so i hate to think how wrong they could have gotten the hygiene of the vegetable, tofu and sauce for me to be so ill. Safe to say we won't be returning here and it has quite possibly put me off thai food for good, especially satay starry.

User

it use to be cleanest but now dirty chairs, old torn menu books.. smelly tables :( please refurbish atleast chairs ....

User

This places' have a good taste , but lighting isn't enough, and must be pay attention to clean and when is here crowd then you have see the order crisis, All menu books are old and dirty, there is a prayer room i a place all pray carpets are unbelievable dirty and smells bad like a died animal... And last visit, I had an booking before 4 hours, but when we arrived to place, the waitress showed the other places to sitting, and after We were sitting around 25 minutes... Terrible unbelievable, and last stay tight ; the last credit card paying limit is 30 dollars if not you must be pay extra 2 dollars, i had to walking 10 minutes to commonwealth bank and got cash...impolite ,,, Visit and get an experience...

User

Simply Amazing!!

Living in Sydney and haven't been here yet? You are missing out then. If you are visiting, please do yourself a favour. DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT A VISIT TO TIME FOR THAI. it is the best Thai restaurant in Sydney. I love my seafood Laksa!

User

My experience with eating at this restaurant has always been fantastic.

Unfortunately trying to order on the time for Thai Restaurant website has proven to be difficult. Each time we had ordered the website crashes and then you are forced to make a call.

Please note when making an order online you receive the 15% discount for your first order

It appears the Manager Lee and waitress Pear are full of excuses regarding the website, ie: that's is its a new implementation, it's being updated and yadayadaya bullshit, and won't honour the first order discount.

The key is they want you to call, Please understand this Lee ..don't care about your implementation your website update or any other technology failures you have. If your website is poorly designed speak to your web developer, maybe you can then save 15% rather than having your customers forfeit the first time discount.

Again we know what your saying is bs.

And stop the false advertising, maybe you don't understand the ethics and morals behind this but your customers do.

In response to your recent post, all of this would have been avoided if I was treated as a customer instead of Lee and Pear debating on whether the implementation went through or so customers can receive 15% discount.

Honour your customers and they will honour you (principle)!!!

If you read my first line I praised Time for Thai, I can only suggest get a proper or competent Web Developer whom doesn't action his implementation on one of your busiest nights (Accident) who does that.

And yes it does work now.

Food is still fantastic.

Got a starter and egg noodles with chicken!!

Was very salty and oily!! Didn’t enjoy to the max!! Will go again to order something else!!

But the food was made fresh which was a plus point.. staff was friendly.. taste just OK.

User

The lunch special is best value for money. For $11 you get hearty portion of meal with juice/soda. Two items+rice for dinner feed family of 4.

User

Amazing food, generous servings, great value for money, nice decor, halal. Easily my favourite restaurant in Sydney. Can't recommend highly enough

User

The go to halal eatery on Newtown if you're looking for Asian food. Food is good and quality is consistent. Service is good, quick and polite. During rush hours it gets really packed and noisy due to its small space. Other than that it's a must try!

User

Great taste, excellent price. Halal so culturally friendly. Taste is aunthentic.

User

Excellent food. Great atmosphere. Warm and welcoming employees.

User

This place has one of the best lunch deals that I've ever ever seen. $11 for a dish with a soft drink. A lot of variety. Quick and easy service. Staff is really nice and accommodating. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for cheap eats in the city.

User

The food and service are good.. And its HALAL.. Love the ducks so much.. Affordable price for portion of menu..

User

Was delighted to find this place which offers Halal Thai food. Ample places around that offer same food as its in China Town. However if your looking for Halal go here. Had the Tom Yum Fried rice and it was very good. My friend had a fish and that tasted amazing as well. Meat of the fish was soft and tender, well cooked. Since I travel to Sydney often I really wouldn't mind coming here again.

User

Very good and cheap to eat

User

A. Food was amazing and zero complaints in that area. Aromatic and tasty.
B. Understaffed in the night but no delay in service. I empathise with the wait staff and one more person would be perfect.

User

Good food.. seating arrangement seems to be better upstairs but staff would not let us use it because it was a not busy night and therefore less customers. Drinks were limited.

Penang curry with Roti, every time
