About Jatenergy Limited
Jatenergy Limited is a diversified energy company with renewable energy and coal projects in South East Asia
Jatenergy Limited Description
Jatenergy is of the view that renewable energy will become increasingly mainstream over the next decade, but that conventional energy sources will continue to play an important role. Jatenergy's mission is to be an important player in both coal and the production of renewable biofuels.
Coal
Jatenergy owns the rights to 2 coal projects in Indonesia. The first, "Atan Bara", is a small but quick-to-production high quality thermal coal project. The second, "Katingen", is a larger, longer-term resource play in Central Kalimantan.
Jatenergy also has binding offer letters covering 10 coal tenements in Queensland's Galilee and Bowen Basins.
Biofuel
Most of the world's biofuel feedstocks compete with resources that could also be used for food production. Jatropha is a second generation feedstock that can be grown economically, without irrigation, on land that is unsuitable for the cultivation of food crops alone. Jatropha can represent a valuable income source in developing countries, helping to increase energy security and improving the living standards of rural communities.
Jatenergy owns 2, 000ha of 2 to 4 year old jatropha plantation in Central Java, with a further 9, 000ha land bank for expansion of the project.
