Unacceptable customer service - Lack of knowledge - No respect/common decency to customer.

I don't usually write review but I've got to in this case because of how bad my experience was and I believe that I could leave something constructive here.

First, I went to the store to get a cable to connect my 2013 Retina MBP with a late 2009 iMac at my office. I'm a casual tech user so I wasn't sure whih cable to get so I asked some of the staff members there. So they gave me something that looked about right and so I went to work the next day to test it. Turned out its Thunderbolt to Thunderbolt ports weren't compatible with my Mini Display Port iMac.

No problem. Things happen and no one knows everything about everything so I was happy to return to the store to return it while hoping to find something that will work.

I was even happy to find the same person who 'assisted' me the day before there and went to him to ask for further assistance. Never did I know that I was quickly dismissed - being told to the face "Thunderbolt and Mini Display Port are the same". Well, a 5 minute search I did in the morning that day begged to differ. As I tried to explain the difference to him, he contantly dismissed me, repeated the same thing over and over "Thunderbolt and Mini Display Port are the same".

Lack of knowledge I can overlook. Lack of respect and common decency I cannot let that go easily. People come to a store to buy something that can solve their problem. Not to receive more problems or being treated like they are a problem. This is not acceptable in any circumstance and people who behave this way should not be allowed to continue tainting a business's reputation. I've always been JB Hifi's loyal customer - I got my first camera there, my first macbook and the subsequent macbooks there, my first CD, and so on. But now I don't feel like coming back anymore and that sucks. I don't know what I say after this because this is probably all there is - an overwritten complaint from an angry customer about a very unpleasant experience. Im sure you guys get things like this all the time and probably nothing will ever change.

Actually, these guys are ok. Its not to hard to get a discount on most items and you automatically get a 3 year warranty on purchases over $500.

Overall friendly staff and a huge selection of products available whether old or new.

I dropped a star because high end electronics they sell are overpriced:
e.g the Sony Xperia XZ Premium sold for $1100 during July 2017 while OZphones sells them brand new for only $800)

Very good place for electronics. Staffs are good. Like the place. But i will suggest some relocation of products to find easily.

In the Chatswood store I was sold a modem that I was told would be compatible with my NBN. It turned out not to be. I then went to the TGV store to exchange the item for a compatible model. Staff there were attentive, thorough and made the exchange process seamless. Thumbs up!!!

This place Rocks. Staff are very helpful, courteous and attentive to my and other customers needs. Keep the great work up!
