Jj'S At The Marina

Great food and staff and just a really nice place to sit with a coffee and watch the world go past.

Lovely place surrounded by water, boats and a scintillating view. Staff are fantastic, on the ball and very friendly. Food is obviously more suitable for preferences of seafood rather than other meats. Quantities are great and taste is just as good. Great place for lunch & dinner.

First visit seafood basket was excellent. Second visit same dish very disappointing. Some overcooked-burnt. Other pieces under. cooked with excessive batter. Friends fillet of fish over cooked and tough.. Not sure if I will go again as they are not consistent. Gave my comments to the wait person but did not get an apology or any other acknowledgement.
Seems to be limited knowledge of drinks, with excuse that wait person is just learning.. on both visits..
Also wait person cleared table before we had all finished eating.. maybe I am old fashioned but this to me is a rule.. don't clear to all have finished.

Very good food, great service and convenient location with pretty bayside views. Highly recommend a visit. Fantastic for us locals.

We had breakfast a JJ's the meals were fantastic. Cooked well, good portions and service was o.k. a lovely location on the marina. All up a very classy feel. We enjoyed it and would recommend C&M

We stumbled across this hidden gem. Great service, unbelievable food, beautiful location. I'll definitely recommend to my friends and family who are visiting the south coast and if we come back to visit, I'll know exactly where to go for a lovely dinner.

We had dinner here for our daughter's second birthday. The food was delicious and the floor staff were very friendly. Reasonably priced and awesome location. Highly recommend this place for dinner/lunch. 👍🏻

Based on my first dining experience here, I'm not likely to return.

Why not?

For starters, the menu had typos through it and the cutlery and glasses were dirty. Chairs and tables were uncomfortably cramped and the layout of the restaurant was very poor.

Secondly, food was priced per item like 1 fish cocktail or 1 prawn cutlet with ridiculous prices that by the time you multiplied items by the 3 minimum requirement meant it was an expensive affair to feed the family. I was surprised they didn't charge per chip, too!

Third, the food mentioned above was not fresh. It tasted like it came out of a seafood box you can purchase at the supermarket for a fraction of the cost that staff threw into the oven.

I know fresh seafood. This restaurant is not in the same ball park as other highly successful seafood places in the Bay.

This spot, however, is pretty good for a watering hole or bar, due to ambience. A little breezy in winter. Nice enough view of the boats in the marina.

Staff were okay if body piercings and tattoos are your thing and don't put you off your meal.

Not a place I'd suggest is children friendly as mine found it a little scary.

It is certainly "one of those" places that have to be experienced first hand. It fails to live up to my expectations of marina dining, and I've dined at a few places I'd recommend over this place from Hervey Bay, Coffs Harbour, Central Coast, Batemans Bay, and Merimbula.

Had lunch today for my birthday, looking forward to trying JJ,s at the Marina. Funky place, great setting! service was way below par I would not employ the person that waited our table and unfortunately the food was ordinary. I have worked in the food service industry for years and enjoy eating out was most disappointed.

My girlfriend and I just went there for lunch on Good Friday thinking we would get some decent seafood and a beer. We were wrong! They were running a fixed menu that day but hot damn they should run it every day. The chicken and beef mains were spectacular and I would fight everyone in Batemans Bay for another one of their desserts. I can't actually remember too many details of the entrees even though they were also first class, because the dishes following it were so special that they wiped my brain clean of the memories of the entree. The only phrase I clearly remember is "How do the make hot lemon water taste so good?" If a restaurant can make hot lemon water taste good, everybody should go there! If you get a chance to eat here, take it. The food is spectacular, the location is near perfect, the staff are friendly and the service is excellent.
