Ki Meridian Yoga Description

What is Ki Meridian Yoga?

Ki Meridian Yoga is a way of exploring, understanding and developing your life through a system of analysis and personal practice. It’s about finding a way, your Way, in the complex ‘way of the world’.

Ki Meridian Yoga is a fusion of two great Eastern philosophical and practical traditions: it uses the diagnostic and philosophical insights of ancient Taoist observations to analyse, order and adapt the traditional poses and breath techniques of Hatha yoga. And central to this is the Meridian system, a simple lattice of channels in the body that carry the ‘force of life’ (ki) that keeps everything functioning and integrates all aspects of our living.

Through this universal Meridian system a sore throat can be relieved with a stretch of the legs, asthma can be controlled by a breathing technique or a bad back can be settled with a dose of salt. Bigger issues can be affected by a range of yoga strategies designed through the Meridian system. And all these symptoms can be understood in a bigger context of behaviour, diet, your job or your happiness. All this adds up to tell you how to maintain your path in life and thrive.

There are 12 major Meridians in the body and each of them governs a specific organ, a path around the body as well as how you feel and act. If the full ‘force of life’ (ki) is not coursing through these channels then your body can malfunction, causing aches, pains, debility and all its psychological associations of moods and behaviour. Ki Meridian Yoga stretches and strengthens the flow of life around these channels. It can be general or it can have a theme like heart strength and happiness or be very specific and fix an individual complaint.

Enjoy Ki Meridian Yoga and use it to explore the full meaning of poses and find that meaning in your life.
