There are only really two places to go out and club in Newcastle. This is one of them.

Poor business practice. King Street Hotel does not care about whether you have a good time or not; they only care about reeling in as many people as possible into their small, awfully smelling venue after taking your money at the door.

A group of friends and myself meeting up from around the country had our birthday celebrations ruined by highly egotistical, and mentally fragile door staff. I head outside for five minutes at 11pm to put my jacket in the car and I was told I won't be let back in for 45 minutes because I've either 'had too much,' or 'I am on drugs' when neither accusations were true. We proceed to their sister club and paid entry to get into an empty venue for 45 minutes (non of us were on drugs or drunk at this club. Hmmm...). We then head back to King Street where I am still apparently drugged out, but security was fine with me driving home 2 hours high on drugs on public roads. Absolutely zero care for their patrons, and zero social responsibility.

This business does not care for a strong, positive, and professional reputation. As long as people are turning 18 and handing them cover charge money they are laughing. If you are over the age of 20 I sternly advise you go elsewhere.

The Potbellez were playing when I went. Great music. Doesn't really get good until after midnight with the dancing.

Although it can be good if you are absolutely pissed, not the best club sorry to say. It's extremely dirty and even if you are drunk enough, you probably won't be let in. Music is pretty poor too

King St remains one of the busier nightclubs in Newcastle - with some big name DJ's passing through regularly. I have attended their 'Supperclub' level for a few functions, and it is awesome!

I am writing as a concerned mother about the disgusting behaviour by the security on Saturday night towards my daughter and her friend. I only allowed my daughter to travel by train from the Central Coast to go to this nightclub on the one condition that she travels with a large group of her friends and that they all stick together for safety. Little did I know that the immature bullies who are employed as security would break up the group of girls upon entry to the nightclub and deny my daughter and her friend entry for no reason whatsoever. The security then amused themselves by telling my daughter and her friend to go away for half hour and come back and they would let them in. They came back in half hour and were told the some thing. This went on for 2 hours and during this time numerous others were allowed into the nightclub with still no reason given to my daughter as to why she was not allowed in. The security then started to swear at my daughter telling her to "f" off. I am disgusted. A warning to any parent of young ladies wanting to go to this nightclub: You can give your daughters all the advice you can to keep them safe but there will be a moron at the door of this nightclub that will take away their right to safety by splitting the group for his own amusement. If ever this jerk of a security guard grows up and has daughters of his own one day, it will only be then that he will realise what he did was so wrong.

Worst experience. Security out the front were extremely rude and stubborn. I was refused entry & after I asked why I was not allowed in the security guard failed to provide a reason. He then physically shoved me out of the way (mind you he was a grown man & I am 18) which was completely unnecessary as I had done nothing to deserve that. He then used the excuse that I had 'attitude' for my denied entry... pathetic. Never will I return and I will warn others of the repulsive behaviour shown by the staff here. Pathetic!!
