Kings Cross Local Description
Kings Cross is an inner-city locality of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. It is located approximately 2 kilometers east of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Sydney. It is bounded by the suburbs of Potts Point, Elizabeth Bay, Rushcutters Bay and Darlinghurst.
Colloquially known as The Cross, the area is known as Sydney's red-light district, and is reputed to be home to organised crime groups. Once known for its music halls and grand theatres, it was rapidly transformed after World War II by the influx of troops returning and visiting from the nearby Garden Island naval base. Today, it is dominated by bars, restaurants, nightclubs, strip clubs and adult bookstores.

The state Government are moving to announce a 1am OR 2AM LOCKOUT in Kings Cross..This is not a Joke...
Gone will be the days of having the Liberty of going out late and enjoying yourself in Kings Cross. If you're not in a venue by 1am, you will be stuck on the street, with little transport alternatives, and nowhere to go (or go to the toilet).... ... We feel this is a pathetic injustice to young people, and Sydney's reputation as a world class city. It will not stop there people, the entire city is at risk of being shut down, Kings Cross is just the beginning.
